There were a lot of things she didn't know, and many more she probably didn't want to, but Doug's reminder that she was stuck with him, was more relief than he would ever know.[break][break] Yuina was giving in to the exhaustion she felt, the security of being tucked away into his frame, the soft kisses to the top of her head. She did smile, a soft, faint smile as she nuzzled in that much more to his chest, arm held fast across his torso, drawing in a heavy breath. He squeezed her close, settling his chin atop her head, and...[break][break] Her eyes fluttered open again, she heard it...[break] Yuina felt like everything fell still around her, everything fell quiet, not even his breathing in his chest was audible, only... his words... She felt the beginning waves of panic build, all of her uncertainties, her unknowns... if he did... It was only Yuina Higashi, he only knew one part of who she was, was that fair to him? What if she was someone that he would have never... and what if... and she was just so tired, she didn't know how to...[break][break] All at once, Yuina's reeling thoughts stopped... she was tired... She was tired of feeling like she had no choice on anything at every turn, tired of feeling like something was playing out her life for her... Yuina's thoughts flashed to the mask, what was meant to be her deepest desires, and for every time she was forced into that space, she knew that she was looking for him and she couldn't find him. And every time she got too lost in that place, there was still a part of her that ached...[break][break] Maybe it was to her detriment that she was making this choice, she couldn't be one half of a whole person forever... But she was so good at lying... she could lie to herself, just for a little while longer, couldn't she?[break] He knew the worst parts of herself, how afraid she was of who she could have been... He knew that she wasn't whole, and she knew that he would never say something he didn't mean...[break][break] Her arm remained across his torso, but she slowly lifted her head from his chest to meet his eyes.
