Porter’s known somewhat for being a bit of a Water-type specialist. Or, at least, he imagines he is, because he’s gotten a bunch of Water-type jobs. This is his first non-water-related Ranger task since he cleaned up that lady’s berry patch with saskia volosenkova .

It’s kind of scary, facing down suspect Rocket activity all by one’s lonesome. But not nearly as scary as fighting dragons with freya morningstar , he thinks, in all honesty.

The warehouse is quiet. The sounds of the city are a far away echo. Waves lap at nearby docks. Every now and again, something shifts, some piece of metal laid against a smooth surface for too long that gravity finally gets its fingers into. Porter paces empty hallways, wondering if he was wasting his time-- and his sleeping hours.

At first he started going around every corner holding his Horsea like a pistol. Now Iratiri is wrapped around his neck like a scarf, sleeping, and it’s just him and the eerie silence of Ashkii floating over one shoulder.

A Midnight Dreary

This is supposed to be an easy job. Having stolen from various high-end locations such as a CEO's office or a police station's evidence room, something like a lone warehouse seemed like child's play to Jill. These types of places were usually empty at this time of night... but if someone were to appear... they would be disposed of.[break][break]

She climbs her way up onto the roof of the building, not a soul in sight as she quickly picks the lock of the roof door. Once opened, she sneaks her way through the rest of the warehouse, her eyes carefully scanning from side to side for any cameras or security systems. However, it seems this company must be worse for wear, as they didn't have either of dependencies.[break][break]

Box after box are opened, with the help of her Vullaby, they would Knock Off the locks on each one and rummage through their contents. Placing what was needed into her bag for safekeeping.[break][break]

All in all, this is like taking candy from a baby.

This is supposed to be an easy job. Some back-end run-of-the-mill beat that the League shills out for some big company in exchange for tax dues. It’s kind of like a legal mafia, Porter things.

Something goes bump in the night, a quiet, muted sound; Porter thinks its his imagination playing tricks on him. But then he hears it again, and again, closer now, louder, and his feet are moving to the source of the sound--
[break][break]
--the silhouette of a real life human being almost makes him squeak with fright. Instead, all of the air goes out of him, and after a few startled gulps, he manages a rather hoarse, “H-hey! What are you doing?!” as his sweaty fingers pat at Iratiri, slapping at his collarbones to wake the slumbering Horsea.

A Midnight Dreary

Just her luck. Of course someone was here. How could she have missed something so crucial while she cased the place. No matter, with her mask, she stood no chance of getting recognized. Not like this person would live to see what was behind it anyway. She doesn't speak a word, the only sounds coming from her Vullaby which began to start its assault.[break][break]

A Dark Pulse envelops the area, blowing out all the lights in the room and enshrouding her figure even more. The only thing he would be able to make out were the red of her eyes. Swift steps follow suit, all headed towards the man in front of her. Hopefully she could end this all in one go, a swift punch to his head to knock him out easily.
