- 38 with KARTANA you own or ones you've made docile temporarily, use them as a SHIKIGAMI, a paper figure cut into the shape of a person or pokemon to ward off negative energy. ironically, when placed around the realm, or on the moon, the more you can sense a powerful entity's presence.
- ~~39 encounter a mysterious and large altar (click fo reference/concept art at bottom of page) on the realm or on the moon. clear the area of threats, including hostile lunatone, for a future visit.~~
- 40 battle a SHINY TAPU BULU that resides in this realm naturally. upon proving your mettle, it will grant you a MOON FLUTE that plays a sweet tone filled with gratitude.
- 🗺️ SPECIAL HUNT: soyeon kwan will be able to capture a CELESTEELA or KARTANA during this expedition. they may consider capturing an infantile celesteela or more a docile kartana; however, catching one may incur the wrath of more mature ultra beasts in the realm and cause multiple earthquakes, eruptions, or celesteela launches toward your location.[break]
Instead of an ULTRA BEAST, they may encounter and catch a ZARUDE that has wandered into this rift from Hoenn instead.

As promised the time for the next expedition came expeditiously. She had called on soyeon kwan once more, she had proven ample help last time and Elinor was praying she would prove the same this time.

This time she had chosen to bring her Kartana with her. The small murderous Origami floating in front had been set to work leading them safely through its former home.

Elinor had considered taking another trip to the moon, but pondered if their were similar peculiar locations to be found. And so had ordered her Kartana to lead them to somewhere of importance.

As if she needed to see an excuse to go back into Ultra Space! Soyeon received the invitation from Elinor while in the middle of cleaning off her desk. By the the message was three minutes old, she was already out of the lab and on her way to meet with the woman once more. Soyeon had been doing better since she spent the better half of a few days recovering after that nasty little burn wound. Her skin had some hints and pieces of being burned, though nothing beyond a minor blemish now. AT seeing the other woman, Soyeon gave her the same beaming smirk. [break][break]

"Always a pleasure to work alongside you, Ms. Anderson." The scientist gave a bow of the head and followed her inside of the womrhole leading to the Ultra Crater once more. This time, Elinor had brought a Kartana of her own. With any luck, it could hopefully talk down any attacking Ultra Beasts before things got too hectic once again. Or, worst case scenario, give them an advantage to cut through things for an escape route. At least this time there wouldn't be any Celesteela! They followed the Kartana as it led them through the barren landscape... [break][break]

After a lengthy walk of nothing of importance, the party found themselves before a great set of stairs. Climbing to the top, they were treated to quite the sight indeed. A strange altar, with the shape face in the stone resembling that of a moon. Scattered across the surface were agitated Lunatones. They traveled frequently, and looked as if something had disturbed them. "How peculiar. It's an alatr, but for what purpose?" Soyeon observed, taking out her tablet and making a few notes to herself. "I can't image something this grandiose would be for something minor. But first things first, we should deal with its guardians first." [break][break]

Lengthy walk was a bit of an understatement. But it was worth it. Elinor’s mouth went wide agape as her eyes befell the altar.

“I think you are right.” Elinor mused. And for a moment she pondered if the Moon-symbolism of the altar was somehow related to that Pokémon that tried to aid them back when Necrozma attacked Sootopolis.

But as Soyeon so rightfully pointed out, they had to deal with the Guardian first if they wanted a closer look. “I’ll handle the guardian if you can keep those Lunatone from interfering.” She spoke confidently.

Yet she felt a certain discomfort at the thought. As if the Guardian or the Lunatone were projecting some really negative vibes. The Kartana had seemingly sensed the vibes and begun to refold itself into a different more humanoid shape, a shape which eased the negative energy a bit.

The Lunatone floating all around the altar was quite the curious find indeed! Soyeon couldn't help but try and think of just how they might have gotten to where they were, although something did eat away at her. This many just making their home here did suggest that they had some kind of relationship to this place. Was it their home, or something that drew them here? Whatever the case may have been, the two of them would need to clear this if they wanted to investigate further. [break][break]

"Right. I'll be right behind you." She gave a confident nod and then made her move, though stumbled a bit at the strange energies coming from this place. It was almost like some kind of force was pushing her away. The Kartana folded itself into a more proper form, helping with the negative feelings that had swarmed around them.[break][break]

"Whatever that energy is feels...icky." It was a rather childish description for such an educated mind, but such was an apt summary of the vibes here. Her hands dug onto her belt and threw out a pokeball that summoned forth her Decidueye. He let out a calm series of chirps before Soyeon would make her move to begin the plan. She stepped in front of the stairway with her Pokémon as it nocked several arrows inside of its wingspan. "Let's cover for Elinor, Razor Leaf!" The Decidueye took a long stride forward into an archer's kneel before firing off several green tinted "shots" at the Lunatone in front of it. With several reeling back from the surprise attack and some few being downed from it, the majority of the attention was on the scientist and her companion. [break][break]

The arrows and leaves few masterfully with Artemis' aim. Precious few shots managed to miss their mark, though with each one felled, more Lunatone appeared to come out to defend their home. "You have an opening, Ms. Anderson! We'll take care of any stray Lunatone!"[break][break]
