🗺️ SPECIAL HUNT: your character(s) will be able to encounter a VOLCANION that can speak. You must win its trust in some way, for it is wary of humans due to an unknown reason, but perhaps related to the events that have transpired in this kingdom a long time ago.

It guards several SOUL-HEARTS that it is attempting to repair. It will manage to repair one Soul-Hearts by chance as it transfers some of its INFINITY ENERGY to it, shortening the Volcanion's life. The Volcanion is doing this in an attempt to find the MAGEARNA it had sworn to protect a long time ago, believing itself to be the last surviving "knight" of the royal guard.

Bringing one SOULLESS MAGEARNA to the Volcanion will allow your character(s) to open a hatch on the Magearna's chest to install the Soul-Heart in order to grant it "life", which then can be captured.

Instead of a MAGEARNA, you may encounter and catch a STAKATAKA that has managed to displace itself here. Whether it is here from Hoenn or another location in ULTRA SPACE is unknown.

Not that Fletcher Hyland would really be able to stop her, if she wanted something bad enough - Silphs were a determined lot, predictably entitled and stubbornly resilient.[break][break]
They faced the entrance to a tunnel system, presumably leading down into some sort of mining operation below the mechanical city. The door was, frustratingly, locked - and there was no sign of a key.[break][break]
"Do you think you could open this?" She eyed Fletcher. He was a detective - surely he'd picked a lock before.[break][break]
Moxie and Millie were once again flanking her on either side, sniffing the air expectantly, ears and tails twitching with anticipation. They never seemed entirely at ease within this kingdom; danger lurked around every corner, after all.

Resisting the urge to grumble, he acquiesces, nodding. Their first obstacle presents a problem he wasn't suited to handle. That was, until, Sandslash offers a pair of thin thorns from his back.

"Watch the rear." Grunting, Fletcher kneels and jams boths thorns into the mechanism. After a couple of minutes—half of which he'd done at the peak of an impatient frustration—he gets the door to open.

Pushing it open, he enters it much like he'd clear a building—slow, precise, and with a healthy dose of cautiousness.

"Clear."

She watched him work with a curious eye, leaning over him to get a better look as he poked and prodded at the lock with the thorns. He was quite dexterous with his hands, she noted - but more than that, she couldn't help but feel fixated by the way his brow furrowed as he worked, mouth quirking in concentration. And there was something intense about his eyes, she realized, that made her shiver slightly: his usual apathy replaced by a subtle passion.[break][break]
The moment ended as the door popped open, and he rose to investigate. She followed after him, emboldened by his "all clear" assessment. Inside was a dark corridor that seemed to lead down, sloping dramatically just beyond the doorway. As they walked, sweat began to bead at the back of her neck and along her hairline. Millie let out a dramatic sniff of discontent.[break][break]
"Does it seem like it's...getting warmer to you?"[break][break]
There was a faint light at the end of the tunnel, she realized.
