The winds of war were blowing over Hoenn. Thankfully this was something that was quite familiar to the Kantonian native. The only difference between now and then were the roles she was expected to play.

[break][break] Tori had been making her rounds, quite eager to have a schedule packed to the brim with training drills and war preparation 'chores'.

[break][break] She'd been partnered off with some random grunt that she didn't know much about. Not that, her partner really mattered.

fern delaney is renowned for their expertise in forgery and counterfeiting. With the impending war, it would be wise to have such security measures for your identity. Perhaps that’s something you'll pursue later. But for now... [break][break]

"How do you feel about working with your hands?" the Beast asks your group, as he decides to organize you into even smaller groups. [break][break]

"If I have to work with Ja—I mean, Admin Cross, I'd rather not," someone speaks up behind you. You recognize the voice as Victoria Beckett's. Isn't that Underboss Beckett's daughter, recently returned from Kanto? Or are those just rumors? [break][break]

If you skip weapons training with jayden cross, which looks intimidating enough, you'll have to engage in hand-to-hand combat with Beast Tempest Quinn. Watching him unleash his pit of canines against defenseless grunts makes you wonder if that's any better. [break][break]

Tori blinked as she listened to her partner speak. "Sheesh and I thought I was uptight," she muttered to herself.

[break][break] There was nothing wrong with the 'God General', she just figured her aching muscles could take the day off for once.

[break][break] She'd been partnered off with some random grunt that she didn't know much about. Not that, her partner really mattered.

[break][break] After intial introductions her eyes land on her old friend, Admin jayden cross, and Tori can't help but roll her eyes.

[break][break] The snarky words fly out of her mouth faster than she has the good sense to clamp her mouth shut.

[break][break] But it was all in good spirits. She didn't hate Jayden or anything. Quite the opposite really...

[break][break] When faced with another choice, the option was obvious to her again. She was already quite comfortable with weapons so hand to hand combat was something she'd be looking forward to.

She had already seen just what jayden cross was capable of. His avatarship was not something to be taken lightly and while she would normally take the option to spar with him, the other choice seemed more fitting.[break][break]

"I'd like to see this Tempest Quinn in action. Your Beasts are strong in their own right and I'd like to see how he compares to Kanto's strongest. Will that be all right with you? Or would you rather take the easier option?"[break][break]

Her retort comes naturally. She doesn't mean to sound so arrogant, it was just the way she is. How she's always been. Pleasantries were an afterthought in her line of work, and there was no point in acting friendly with her colleagues. Grunts and their like were as easily lost as they were found. There was never any time to know someone, only yourself.

Victoria's eyes flick towards Jill as she finds her eyebrows raising in curiosity and confusion. Clearly she didn't know who she was, otherwise such statements wouldn't have left her lips.

[break][break] Tori was from Kanto too. She survived the horrors there through her own blood, sweat and tears. Her sheer iron-will and determination is what got her here.

[break][break] With a strained grin she brushed past Jill to make her way towards Tempest Quinn's camp. "No problem. I just hope you can keep up."

[break][break] Tori had yet to make Tempest Quinn's acquaintance. She knew that her old friend Cillian Quinn was married now but she'd never dug deeper than that.

[break][break] To be honest, she'd had her hands full on her own. She couldn't afford to make new friends at the moment. That being said, she would be lying if she said she wasn't curious about him.

[break][break] She never would've imagined Cillian Quinn would one day get married.

[break][break] Once everyone broke off into pairs once more Jill and Tori were the only ones left once again.

[break][break] With a heavy sigh she brushed her hair back as violet hues landed on her opponent, the Beast himself.

[break][break] Hand-to-hand combat was something she was extremely familiar with. After all, her father was THEO BECKETT and she'd been trained by Cillian Quinn himself. When it was time to act she didn't hesitate, instead she took off with lightning quick speeds to close the gap between her and her opponent.

She never much cared about who she was around. Someone could be her long lost brother but it wouldn't matter. As long as they weren't a hindrance then she could at least tolerate their presence.[break][break]

And now with the Beast, Tempest Quinn, to contend against, she can only hope that Tori can back up her own words.[break][break]

Her companion rushes in for the attack. Jill watches intently, studying how both Quinn and Tori fought. It was only until their was a reprieve among the two, that she lifts her arms up in preparation for an offensive of her own.[break][break]

Utilizing whatever skills in your arsenal to your advantage — whether speed, size, or cunning — you swiftly identify a vulnerability in his stance. Overwhelming him proves deceptively straightforward, and after several minutes grappling in the mud, he concedes defeat. [break][break]

There's a unsettlingly bloodthirsty gleam in his eyes as you disengage, leaving you to ponder how much of the battle was truly under your control. Nevertheless, Tempest Quinn congratulates you cheerfully on your victory. [break][break]

The match was as exciting as it was lacking a little...something. Tori could tell in the exchange between blows. Tempest Quinn was holding back. Then again, this was just supposed to be a sparring session, not an all out brawl.

[break][break] So, with that in mind, Tori also didn't reveal all of her cards that she had to play.

[break][break] By the end of it both Jill and Tori had come out on top against the Beast. Wiping the mud from her jaw, Victoria's gaze focused on Temp's.

[break][break] She recognized that look of his, in fact, her own gaze probably mirrored it. There was something about finding a capable fighter. She was eager to learn more about Temp than she was prior to the match.

[break][break] Jill wasn't too bad either. For everything that came out of her mouth, at least she didn't slow Tori down.

[break][break] But...Victoria couldn't help but see a younger version of herself within the woman. It was a....strange feeling to say the least.

[break][break] With a nod towards Temp and his request she brushed past Jill without much of a word until...

[break][break] "...Let's head back and wash up. I'll treat you to lunch and you can tell me about your time in Kanto."

[break][break] It wasn't hard to recognize one Kantonian from another, if you knew where to look after all.
