"what say we make this a triple threat match?"

a double kick from the hitmonlee to commence the bout would be met by the ceruledge's arms - a deflection, then a response with a sharpened swipe of its blades. its psycho cut struck true. the krookodile projected a sand attack, but the fire blade pokémon rushed through with its arms crossed to shield its eyes, rushing in with a piping hot flare blitz, in the hope of softening it up just enough for a clean catch.

Airi shook her head and laughed at Silvi's remark. "Gotta love that sense of humor," she giggles a little bit more, then flashes him a softer smile. At least he does not seem to be too upset about the two of them taking the wrong turn. "Yes! If I remember correctly, we should see a lot of fighting, dragon, and ground-types roaming around this area," she tells him. She then places her index finger underneath her chin for a few seconds as she takes a moment to think about her previous words. Or is it steel, ground, and fire-types? She thought to herself.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted by the sound of war cries in the background. The Ranger Nurse quickly shifted her body around in the direction of the loud noise echoing not too far away from them. In the near distance, her deep blue eyes would take notice of two Pokémon engaging in a hands-to-hands showdown. Was it an actual battle or were the two of them simply helping each other train? The Pokémon soon took notice the of the Rangers approaching them and immediately stopped their little dual long enough to observe them for a few seconds.

"See... Fighting-type and Ground type, I told ya!" She grinned, rubbing the back of her neck as she glanced over at Silvi then back over the fighting-types, keeping a watchful eye on them.

Airi deep azure eyes sparkles with admiration as she watches Silvi's powerful knight take dominance over the battlefield. The Ceruledge's blade like arms and its ability to use scorching flames to take out its opponent in a flawless battle. "Impressive. I can't even remember the last time I've seen you in combat, Silv. It is good to know that you and your Pokémon have not loss your touch," she smiles at her close friend. She then watches as he tosses a Poke Ball at the Dark/Ground-type Pokémon. "Oh, yeah. About that little mix up a few minutes ago... The sand was playing tricks with my eyes," she giggles, shaking her head at her own mix up earlier.

Airi would have sent out a Pokémon on her own to support Silvi's Pokémon, but it appeared that the Hitomlee decided to coward away after Ceruledge was able to block his powerful kick. It was best for it to flee or else her Gardevoir would have finished it off with one move. Perhaps, the two of them will be able to fight along each other at a later time.

"You are off to a good start," Airi pointed out, watching the Poke Ball come to a halt, confirming that Siliv had managed to capture the menacing sand croc. "I actually think that it will compliment your current team quite well, too." She adds, giving him another warm smile. "Shall we keep going?" She asks him, waiting a few seconds for his response.

"you think so...?"

it seemed that airi had suffered the effects of the sand attack, for perhaps her eyes had deceived for but a moment, not that it mattered much as this point. the shady knight-like pokémon would claim victory with relevant ease, allowing for a clean capture of that dastardly reptile. a look of satisfaction crept up on his features as he moved to secure the newly occupied pokéball in his hands. he hadn't expected to meet a new potential ally today, but in silv's and airi's line of work, surely they would happily accept any help that they can get.

he wouldn't dare to try to fault her for the mishap - everyone was bound to make a mistake or two after all, including silverio himself. he was inclined to think that her praise of him wasn't an error, rendering his features flushed for but a moment. "well..." he began, raising the used ball to his chest. "i wasn't a champion in paldea for nothin', you know!" he teased his dearest friend, offering a cheesy grin in return. "let's move-"

a powerful karate chop rendered a wall nearby undone, courtesy of an incredibly bulky and seemingly superpowered machamp. from behind it, however, a much smaller pokémon emerged, lunging at the two humans in an attempt to get a bite out of them. but a swift bitter blade from silv's trusted companion would stop the gible in its tracks, sending it flying into a wall on the opposite side, leaving it wide open for a potential capture. the machamp walked off, seemingly acknowledging ceruledge's strength in its own right.

Airi's piercing azure eyes widening slightly at Silvi's remark about being a champion in the Paldea Region. "Champion? What are you talking about Silvi? I've never heard you mention being a champion of any of any sorts!" Airi responds, narrowing her eyes at her friend while gently poking at his muscular chest with her index finger. A small, rosy-pink blush soon kissing against her cheek the moment she realizes what she is doing to him. She quickly removes her index finger way from his chest and flashes him with an innocent smile.

Luckily, their attention is soon drawn towards the sound of wall cracking then crumbling not too far away from them. "What in the world>" Airi asked, shifting her body around towards the direction of what the noise seem to be coming from a few seconds ago. "Whoa!" The unexpected cry escaped from her mouth as she accidently reaches out towards her good friend and clings his body a bit at the land shark made an attempt to bite at them. Thankfully, Silvi's Pokémon was able to react swiftly once again to save their hides. "That was a close one," she giggled, nervously, clearing her throat, then releasing her grip on Silvi.

"I can't let two have all of the fun!"," She smirks, releasing her beautiful and elegant Gardevoir from her orb. The regal Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon lets out a soft and serene cry as she makes eye contact with the Machamp. The Gardevoir places her hands over her "heart" in a graceful manner before releasing a powerful force of shimmering telekinetic energy from her body and in the direction of the fighting-type, knocking it out in one hit.

Latte would then unleash another powerful Psychic, after noticing a Pawmot emerging from a corner and attempting to blindside her with an Arm Thrust. The Electric/Fighting-type let out a painful cry before crashing onto the ground. Airi took a Poke Ball then curved in the direction of the weakened Pawmot.

a little known fact revealed.

naturally, anyone would be taken by surprised by the former paldean champion's tiny tidbit. surely at some point, the league must have had a way to run a background check on anyone that would be affiated with them, including the ranger corps. silverio had never mentioned the particular notion about himself to airi, among many others. because, one, he plainly assumed that it was common knowledge to his peers. and two? "well, i don't recall you ever asking about my past life as a trainer. or maybe you had once and i forgot. either way, i guess the delcatty's out of the bag now!" he teased the woman, a hearty laughter that could heard throughout the dark corridors soon following.

an unexpected touch upon him would render him red in the face for but a moment until it was swiftly retracted. it was at the moment where airi's own signature pokémon would come into play. "it's about time you decided to join the party!" he jested again. normally, he would joke about himself having to 'carry' airi, since she often preferred to remain on the back lines and assist with tending to the wounded, which was a fair and valid motion in its own right. after witnessing the gardevoir make quick work of both the small critter and the four-armed superpower, he feigned impression with a exasperated whistling. "i gotta say, you and your buddy there aren't bad yourselves, airi."

"and here comes another new challenger!" a dynamic punch from a crabominable would miss wildly. the ceruledge would use this leverage to its advantage, delivering a swift psycho cut to its back, downing it in one fell swoop, and leaving it wide open for a ball to secure it.

Airi's sighed and shrugged her shoulders at Silvi's teasing words. "I don't know, but I would one think that their sidekick would not keep anything that information from their partner," she added, narrowing her gorgeous sapphire blue eyes at him. Despite teasing him back a bit, Airi found his decision to not disclose such information with her to be quite humble. She could think of quite a few of her male friends, who would have screamed out that secret to her in hopes of impressing her. Alas, Silvi does not seem to be like those other guys, and it makes him stand out to Airi even more. "So, is there anything else I need to know about you that I may not know just yet? Like... are you on the run from an evil organization or something?" she asked, arching her eyebrow at him.

Airi giggled at Silvi's remark about her joining the "party". "Well, it never hurts to arrive at the party fashionably late, right?" A cunning smirk curling against her lips as she flipped her long, rich, chocolate brown hair over her shoulders. The sweet scent of her feminine and alluring perfume dancing around her body as the wind whips around them a bit. "Just because I prefer to play the supportive role on the field, it does not mean that I am not capable of taking care of threats. One day you will all learn not to underestimate the cute ones," she giggled, giving him a play eye wink with her right eye.

The Poke Ball that she tossed it at the Pawmot soon came to a halt. Airi kindly dismissed herself from Silvi just long enough to retrieve the orb. Her thick, curvaceous hips and thighs swaying from side to side with each step as she walked closer to the red and white orb. She slowly bends over a bit to pick up the orb, carefully attaching it to her utility belt.

Her attention soon shifted away from her utility belt as she heard a loud and powerful vibration occurring above her. Taking her left hand and using it to shield her deep azure eyes, her vision will become more focus and reveal to her a Wild Vibrava flying above her with its majestic wings. A wide green spread across her full lips as she took a few seconds to admire the mystical beast. "I've been waiting for you..." she whispered more to herself than to anyone else. She glanced over to make eye contact with her Gardevoir. The Gardevoir nodded her head in response to her trainer's nonverbal cue. Latte closes her eyes, channeling energy deep down inside of her body from the moon. She then creates a beautiful orb of shimmering pink, cosmic energy in front of her dainty hands and fires it at the Ground/Flying-type, knocking it down from the ground and leaving it unconscious. Airi swiftly withdrew another empty Poke Ball from around her waist then tossed it gracefully at the Vibrava.

"sidekick?? very funny." the man retorted in playfully sarcastic tone. alas, there were certain factors that were better off unknown - questions that were better off unaswered. in the case of silverio's background noise so to speak, his past life as a former paldea regional champion was a but a small tidbit that he didn't often share with anyone. in fact, since his arrival in hoenn some few years back, only a handful of folks outside of the league had ever gotten the pleasure or the privilege of learning that piece of information. alas, the decision to put competitively battling on the backburner in favor of learning was a choice made by silv, and only him.

the running jokes would continue, prompting a rare grin from the man. running away? perhaps from the proverbial skeletons in the closet. "on the run? well if i was to say that i was, would you try to catch me?" he feigned a sinister vibe, but remained stilled at heart. airi had been one of the rare few individuals that he felt comfortable with pausing that stone-cold exterior with. like, he could get away with being himself around her and not suspect any ill intent. who knows, suppose that the feeling would be mutual, it was how their partnership - and more importantly, their friendship - has retained its strength and value up to this point.

as the woman and her gardevoir went to work on another hopeless victim, a peculiar ghostly dragon could be seen floating idly by, silv and his ceruledge would pay it no mind. and yet, the dreepy seemed to be drawn to the pair of 'dark knights', lazily following suit behind them. hopefully, he and airi would soon break out of this and eventually make it to the springs before sundown...
