Roze had observed from a boat alongside the young girl beside her, the sudden shifting movements of the groaning preserve had proven to be a particular problem on the local population of reef-dwelling pokémon who'd called this artificial reef home. Pokémon such as Mareanie, Corsola, Dhelmise, Wishiwashi and a diverse group of fish pokémon had seemed to be particularly troubled as the shifting seemed to threaten part of their home against a small lagoon that had formed from the coral and sand barrier that had naturally accrued against the hull of the complex.[break][break]

First and foremost, assuring the pokémon that remained trapped within the lagoon safe passage, "While he's not the most fond of water, I do have a friend who might be able to solve our first problem, Miss Halla," Roze had said with a reassuring smile, stepping off the boat on top of the lagoon's sand barrier, not particularly fussed by her feet getting wet in the process—nor her shoes getting flooded almost immediately.[break][break]

She'd sent out her Dugtrio, the trio of moles somewhat surprised upon finding themselves in a wetter environment than usual, only for the conservationist to reassure them with a soft pat on the head, "I know this isn't what we normally do, Soot, but I know you're the most talented for this," she'd offered encouragement for her pokémon, "I need you to dig a hole through the sand and coral to let the pokémon who can't climb over through, do be careful not to get flooded out though," she'd explained, and with a courageous nod, the trio had quickly dove into the sand from a spot of dry land that rose above the water.[break][break]

"Now, Miss Halla, while Soot goes to give us an evacuation route... would you happen to have a pokémon that'd be able to protect this segment of artificial reef from sinking alongside the complex?" Roze had asked with a smile, she wasn't sure what else they might be able to do with how much life seemed to depend on the anchor hold that was the submerged metal if it were to crumble away.

And yet here she is, precariously leaning over the side of the boat, just to catch a glimpse of the artificial reef she so talks about. At the very least, they had been kind enough to offer her a Wishiwashi-patterned life jacket to help keep her afloat.[break][break]

When called upon, Vespertine is by no means happy with the state of affairs. Their seaweed furrows, scrunching their expressions as they dive right into the water. With utmost precision, they aim their Anchor Shot, wrapping their seaweed and chains around the metal.[break][break]

Roze was mindful to help the young girl avoid falling in the water, and she'd had a few pokémon on her person ready to save Eris should the worst happen, so she'd been more than happy to rely on the girl despite the handicap, quite thrilled in fact with the help the young girl could offer.[break][break]

"Actually, that might just be the ticket," she'd clicked her fingers, a bright smile on her face, a Dhelmise's strength and flexibility with its appendages might be the perfect way to keep this part from sinking alongside the rest of the complex and keep the area safe.[break][break]

"Good thinking, Miss Eris," she'd further commented, her Dugtrio had risen back from the initial hole it had bored, puffing with pride to signify that he'd succeeded in creating a tunnel to help create an escape route for the residents of the little lagoon, yet still small enough that it wouldn't compromise the entire existence of the lagoon.

With the Dugtrio resurfacing, Eris can't help but gaze into the lagoon, watching as the pokemon slip through the tunnel one by one. They look fine for the most part. At least, from what she can see amidst the many layers of oceanic life and the rippling waters. But she can't help but worry if there's anything they're missing.[break][break]

She'd returned her Dugtrio to his ball, and had let out a Clefairy and Comfey with a soft smile, having happily readied the first pair she'd thought of able to help set up a temporary clinic on the boat, "I do have a Dhelmise of my own, but I hadn't quite thought to bring them," Roze had noted, she'd been a little focused however, still intent to listen for Eris, yet she'd been scrounging about the boat, hoping to find her first aid kit and a handful of potions, it hadn't taken long for the conservationist to find exactly what she was looking for.[break][break]

She'd been ready and waiting, "we ought to avoid being too loud so we don't scare the wild pokémon trying to treat them," she'd added further in a whispered tone.

A splash of water against her shoulder draws her attention upwards, a Lanturn staring right at her with several Chinchou in tow. Having trained one of her own, she notices how their antennae seem to be glowing a little weaker than usual, drooping without the slightest bit of electrical flow.[break][break]

"You guys don't look too well..." Kneeling down, she dips a hand towards the water, holding it still as the Lanturn approaches. "Did you want help?"

"A castle would be quite an apt comparison, actually," Roze had said with a smile, the water within the atoll had been fairly clear, though grew darker as one approached depths, yet it remained clear enough that the two would be able to spot some sort of movement if they looked close enough on occasion below the shimmering tides.[break][break]

Roze had smiled, it seemed Eris would be able to handle the pokémon plenty, leaving her Comfey and Clefairy with the young trainer alongside the medical supplies as she'd hopped back off the boat onto the reef island that surrounded most of the little lagoon, "do be careful not to get hurt, Miss Eris, Lei and Allende'll help as best as they can, I'm sure, so feel free to rely on them," she'd called out with a chipper smile, "I'll just be inspecting the area a little further."[break][break]

Roze had wandered to the otherside of the lagoon, the side that had been saddled close to the artificial complex, grown along it and thus become dependent on it for structure. Given the small size of the atoll, she wouldn't be wandering that far, in any case.[break][break]

"... we might ought to cut a segment of it free from the rest of the complex in case it really does sink..." she'd thought aloud.

The Chinchou are sick, that's for certain. With Chloris applying Aromatherapy, they seem just that bit better. Perhaps, the poison from the Mareanies had gotten to them. Or maybe they were running low on food with all the competition. After all, they had all been stuck in this little lagoon for a while.[break][break]

"Well, here are some berries that you guys can eat." Something to give them back their strength for now. Despite the Lanturn's initial reluctance, they eventually give into the cries of their young and allow them to go at the offered food. "We'll probably need to keep an eye on you guys for a few days..."

Whilst Eris dealt with the sick Pokémon, with the assistance of her own Comfey alongside Lei and Allende doing their best to help, applying further healing or running about the ship fetching anything the young girl might need for her, the flower-adorned conservationist had inspected the hull-side section of the atoll further, even at some point going so far as to sit over and stick her face into the waters themselves—surely an odd sight if Eris were to notice—such that she could get a better view of what was beneath the waves without refraction addling her viewpoint.[break][break]

Whilst it had stung her eyes a decent bit, and she'd certainly gotten herself inevitably a little drenched in the process, as she'd used her one free hand to wipe off excess sea water off her face—it was almost refreshing if she weren't somewhat cold now, she'd had a decent idea of where the hull started and ended, quickly sending out her Quaquaval.[break][break]

"Sunshower, if I could just burrow a spot of your time..." she'd explained to the dancer pokémon what she'd needed, effectively a section cut to free the hull from the complex, "Miss Eris?" she'd shouted from across the atoll over the shimmering waves, "I might need the assistance of your Dhelmise soon," Roze had requested, "I'm going to have Sunshower here make some incisions, we might need to keep it in place if things go wrong, it's a little drastic, but better than doing nothing at the moment," she'd further explained, while it might take a couple days to fully ensure the process was safe, it'd at least give Roze the time to fetch her own Dhelmise to tag in after the initial step, and to further inspect once the cut is made to decide whether any further artificial reinforcing might be required to keep this little lagoon safe.[break][break]

"When you're able," she'd said further, she'd noticed that Eris had been busy with the Chinchou and Lanturn, and while the sinking complex was a danger, it wasn't an immediate one for now, the two would have enough time. Nonetheless Roze and her Quaquaval had been ready to cut free the hull from the rest of the complex with a series of Aqua Cutters.—merely an outer shell designed to lessen the impact of rougher waves against the actual walls of the complex and plenty safe to cut off with the atoll itself acting as an extra external barrier.

There are a few big words thrown in there but from what she can get, she basically has to have Vespertine help hold the structure together when she makes those cuts.[break][break]

"Alrighty!" That sounds simple enough.
