Bella herself hadn't exactly been a handy helper, in fact, she'd been stopping by this little greenhouse garden on occasion to grab a couple berries for herself and her Sprigatito, who admittedly enjoyed sunbathing within the little garden and oftentimes took catnaps here whenever Bella hadn't brought her along on her escapades. Nonetheless, Bella wasn't really sure who was really planting most of these berries, she'd take a couple and water the flowers and berry trees within the little glass house to at least be polite and be on her way—or drop a packet of seeds by when she felt a bit guilty about it, though she'd never really tried her hand at gardening, herself, her thumbs were anything but green.[break][break]

Nonetheless, it had been another typical day for the girl, coming to pick up her Sprigatito—who'd made a second home here, practically—and of course, grab a handful of berries for snacks on the way back. Humming her way along the little road following the stream to the warm little greenhouse surrounded by stone walls reminiscent to Galarian farmland, there'd been something a tad different on her way there this time around. A rather menacing scarecrow that had impeded her path right at the entrance.[break][break]

"... huh, I wonder if they're havin' pest problems," the Kalosian failure had thought aloud, taking a peek at the faux Cacturne, not realising that she herself would probably count as a pest considering the amount of berries she tended to pilfer. Nonetheless, she'd carried on past, ducking underneath the arm of the weirdly realistic Cacturne scarecrow, and heading over to the greenhouse. She'd pat her Sprigatito's head as the little grass cat yawned and meowed, happily napping by the warm glass. Slowly sauntering over to one of the plentiful berry trees within to pick one to bite.[break][break]

Yet as she reached forward, another arm had reached for the same berry, perhaps this was destiny? A fated encounter that'd spiral into a deep romantic saga yet to be written in Bella's single life? She'd turned to face the owner of the arm, breath held, almost feeling the rom-com tension of her heartbeat as she gazed upon-- the haunting visage of a Cacturne's dark, sunken eyes, staring right into her soul, "oh, wassup?" she'd blurted the first thing that had come to mind.[break][break]

She'd practically fallen over as she'd stumbled back and away with a surprised yelp, throwing her arms about in a haphazard mess of an attempt to shield herself as the Cacturne had hopped back with caution in return, "YOU'RE NOT A SCARECROW AT ALL!" she'd screeched, sounding utterly betrayed, "well, you are- but- you're not meant to move!" she'd corrected herself, still a little panicked from the sudden rush of adrenaline.[break][break]

She'd noticed her Sprigatito, Nyarium, approaching—having been abruptly woken up by the ruckus and a little cross about it—grinning happily now that she'd had the intruder cornered, "You're not stealing anything from MY garden, bucko!" she'd declared proudly, pointing a finger at the Cacturne, failing to remember she didn't own this greenhouse. Nonetheless, full of bravado and courage, she'd called for an attack, "Nyari, Play Rough!" the Cacturne had turned around too late, being blindsided by the grass cat's rough-housing and knocked down.[break][break]

Before the cactus bandito could recover and attack back—and potentially destroy the garden—Bella'd thrown a poké ball right at the top of its head, dealing successful blunt force trauma, cringe damage and attempting to capture the intruder all in one go as her Sprigatito had hopped atop her head, watching carefully for the Cacturne's capture.[break][break]

Whether the wild pokémon escaped and ran, or had been captured, Bella'd be wonderfully treated to her Sprigatito's appreciation regardless. A rather hard bite on her head as recompense for interrupting her Sprigatito's catnap.
