Daphnée pursed her lips as she gently tapped her nail against her crossed arm. She wasn't sure she was the best 'equipped' person to be assigned to missions such as these.

[break][break] After all, she was a fire type specialist and they were here...in Sea Mauville, surrounded by water, considering the sinking of the preservation.

[break][break] Still, this was a 'all-hands-on-deck' sort of situation. War was just on the horizon and the League needed as much help as they could get it would seem. Preparation was in full swing and any able bodied officer was required to offer assistance.

[break][break] Titan barked happily next to her. The small rockruff clearly viewing all of this as some sort of playtime rather than an important job. His face was pressed close to the water as he played with his reflection. Daphnée didn't have the heart to break it to him that they really needed to focus up.

[break][break] So instead she brought her slender fingers to her lips and whistled for her Flechinder instead. Apollo's cry from above let her know that he was nearby. Holding her arm out for him he landed swiftly, his chest puffed out as if expecting to be praised for his swift response.

[break][break] "Do me a favor and scout ahead for me." Daphnée said with a slight chuckle. "Let me know immediately if you see anything out of the ordinary." With a trill in response, Apollo flew off, soaring high into the air.

The Fletchinder would be seen by Genny, who was busy at work attempting her damndest to keep a group of baby Wailmer together. There were three, and as Genny would do her damndest, with a whistle-blowing Totodile constantly moving them along, more and more of Sea Mauville attempting to complicate matters.[break][break]

"Come on, this way!"[break][break]

And without any warning, comes the debris. The sound of metal bending far above. At any moment, the chamber she was in could submerge, which wouldn't be so bad, if the debris didn't threaten to kill the Wailmers like it did to their-[break][break]

Genny... didn't want to think about blood in the water. Seeing the fire bird as a distraction, Genny calls out. "Send help!" The uncomfortable bend from above gave them little time.[break][break]

Genny knew she couldn't do this alone.

Three times came Apollo's trilling cry to alert Daphnee to an impending dangerous situation. Her head jerked in the direction of where his voice was coming from as she nodded to Titan.

[break][break] "We're up. Let's go, boy!" she said as she dashed off with her Rockruff right at her heels.

[break][break] As they arrived amber hues swiftly scanned over the area, her brain working overtime to properly assess the situation. Still some leftover habits from her years as a special agent back in Kalos.

[break][break] The baby wailmers, the panicked ginger-haired girl, and most importantly the quivering, metal bending chamber. The trail of blood in the water was still fresh and Daphnée could only assume worse could happen if she didn't intervene. "Titan!" she shouted as the puppy swiftly ran forward to begin to assist them all.

[break][break] "Make it sturdy." With a sharp bark, multiple gray and brown colored rocks were uplifted and uprooted from the earth. An orange hue of energy could be seen encasing the rocky debris as Titan worked to combine them into proper rock pillars that could be used to support the chamber long enough for the baby wailmers to escape.

[break][break] Daphnée brought her slender fingers to her lips in the form of a whistle. Her Fletchinder returned and swooped down low towards the baby wailmers to rear-guard them and prevent them from wandering off. With this joint move the totodile with equipped with the whistle, would have an easier time herding the babies to safety.

"It's going to be okay!" Genny pleads, calling out to the Wailmers as they swim closer. Their fear was heightened more and more. Hopefully that Fletchinder was getting help. But if this place gets any more unstable, the debris could come down on all of them.[break][break]

The voice comes like a savior, and Genny's head is thrown back to see her; and the relief on her face is so easy to see. A Rockruff utilizing colored rocks to act as pillars for the Wailmer's chamber, and Genny feels her body about to collapse. Stress was starting to leave her.[break][break]

This was invaluable. While above, the sounds of the creaking metal continued to bend and threaten death, for a moment, it gave them time. "Balmung! Clear out the debris, and make a path!"[break][break]

Genny twists around, as from the waters, the little liquid metal Meltan begins its feast on bits and pieces of the Sea Mauville.[break][break]

"Elite Ranger Cromwell! Thank you for your assistance!" Genny is happy to see this woman, having given her the help.

The worst of it had passed. Luckily Daphnée had arrived in time. Not to mention this bright girl was quick on her feet despite seemingly being overwhelmed and stressed.

[break][break] She introduces herself as an elite ranger and Daphnée takes mental notes. "Nice to meet you, I'm Daphnée. I'm just a simple volunteer. I'm glad I can help." She said as she offered her a reassuring smile.

[break][break] There was no need to inform her of her occupation. But it was also just a habit to keep some things like that to herself. Years of training as an active special agent she supposes.

[break][break] "I'll defer to you and your experience. Please let me know if there's anymore that I can do to be of assistance." She says easily.

[break][break] Meanwhile she motioned for her Fletchinder to continue his rounds scouting ahead. With a trill he took off once more, soaring high in the skies to secure the area around them.

"Daphnée! It's a pleasure!" she tries to respond with a level of professionalism fitting for someone who just had a load taking from her shoulders. With her smile, Genny feels more at ease. Deferring to Genny's experience though, that has the redhead scratching at her cheek. How to handle that...[break][break]

As she scratches her cheek, and Balmung continues to eat away at metal, she turns towards the blood in the water.[break][break]

"These Wailmer need to get to safety... I also believe there are a clutch of eggs beneath the waters, nearest where the maternal Wailord is crushed under. Things are stable for now, but if nothing is done, I fear those Wailmer eggs may be crushed, and the newborns in the same state of their mother." Genny explains, rubbing to her face, looking with a pained expression riddled on her face.[break][break]

"For now though, there isn't much we can do if all of them go. We just need to secure an escape route out of here." Genny responds. It's the lesser of two evils, but it isn't a pleasant choice she likes making.[break][break]

"Where did you come from? Is it safer?" Genny is pleading here. Her eyes are filled with hope.

"From the south east." she said as she nodded behind her. "They have an enclosure set up within some barricades close by. A rest and relief area for the survivors."

[break][break] She considered the path she took to get here for a moment. "The area was clear on my way here but be vigilant, this area hasn't been thoroughly combed through yet."

[break][break] Titan barked happily near the water bank as he neared the baby wailmer's. "We can reach out to the ranger's stationed at the relief area to assist with retrieving the eggs as well."

Daphnee informs Genny the best course of action would be the way she came from, confirming as much with the way being clear. Genny's heart can finally rest.[break][break]

"Good, we'll go that way then," she calls out, rubbing at her eyes, as Balmung finishes eating the barricade of metal.[break][break]

With a quick scan around them, with the baby Wailmer just quietly shooting tiny water spouts for Titan's enjoyment, Genny would return Balmung, and point forward.[break][break]

"Lead the way, Daphnée!"

"With pleasure," She said with a bright smile towards the elite ranger. She brought slender fingers to her lips and whistled gathering the attention of both Titan and Apollo. "Time to head back guys."

[break][break] Apollo's cry from above let her know he'd go ahead of them to lead the way back to safety. She felt more secure with him leading their little vanguard. Meanwhile Titan trotted beside the baby wailmer's helping to ensure they follow them closely and no one get's left behind.

[break][break] "Don't worry, I'm sure these guys will be in good hands once we reach the rest area." Daphnée reassured Genny. "They also have refreshments set up, I'm sure you could use a break after all your hard work." She said with a soft chuckle.
