"On it!" Paxton tended to be a jack of all trades, master of none. He shouldn't be driving the boat. But they were understaffed and it was 'like driving a car' and 'you'll figure it out.' They were in crisis, with too many people in trouble and not enough hands to go around. And with his multiple areas of expertise he, sort of, felt obligated to fill in where he could.

He's glad to be working with Daph at least. She could use the field experience. Knowing how to patch someone up was important. You might end up having to keep yourself from falling apart. He carefully swerves the boat near, more so angling it. "Streensturp, reel 'em in!" he ordered as the Octillery released a sudden SHADOW HOLD that gently wrapped around the struggling civilian and began to bring them over to the redhead.

"See anyone else? I can send Joules out to pick them up too if Streensturp is busy." he added, focused on moving the boat as little as possible should another victim of this tragedy start bobbing upwards.

"I smell the smoke and-" he's careful moving the boat, slowing down it's approach to prevent a SECOND boating accident. "I see them. Sending my partner to help!" he said back into the comms. "But...this smoke! It's way too much for one or two boats!" He said as the grey-black plumes billowed upwards.

It's not more boats necessarily but the size. Ahead, in the near distance, waves turn strong as what looks like a cruise ship takes water and sinks. The people still conscious on his boat scream as they hear the cries of the other civilians still on ships. "I'm calling for back up. We can't take on that many survivors on a vessel this small." he told Daphnee as he pulled the ships radio and began to speak on the correct frequency.

Streenstrup grabs and pulls those she can, placing struggling swimmers onto pieces of debris that were floating. It's still not enough. But with the sun beating down hot and incessant, Paxton gives her the all clear. "Make them something, helps on the way!" he shouted as the Octopus pokemon blasted an ICE BEAM to make temporary miniature glaciers and promptly put the flailing survivors onto them.

The smoke that had begun to descend onto the ship is swiftly blown away and Paxton watches as the people on his ship throw the few life rings they can to people choking and bobbing in the waves. He lets out his Dragapult, Ragon who hisses but seems ready for action. "Ragon, can you move some of these people onto the spits of land. I know it's a stretch but-" The dual type was already on the move, plucking civilians up and moving them onto something solid. Whether it was bobbing ice, floating furniture, or the nearby sand banks.

"We're prioritizing the weakest swimmers, I've heard a boats coming out form nearby, and more Rangers are gearing up for rescue back at port." he said. "With all this, try to see if we can make a perimeter, in case anything in the water gets agitated form the disaster."

Its stunning to watch, as more and more people let out their pokemon to assist in their own rescue efforts. As the boats arrive, Paxton carefully moves his to allow the other responders to glide close to the people jumping off the cruise ship.

Streenstrup gets to work immediately, shooting over to a boat and beginning to carefully lift people out of the water with SHADOW HOLD. Ragon does much of the same, transporting people as fast as possible.

"Maybe sure you do a fly by in case anyone's drowning. Streenstrup, go under water and check for anyone that might've dropped under the surface." he ordered.

As Daphnmee worked to give one final check, he moves the ship farther away from the falling cruise ship. All the ships seem to regroup once the sea is clean of civilians trying to get out of the water. Streenstrup returns a bit before Daphnee and he returns her after a job well done. Ragon perched on top of the boat to keep a look out, but mostly sunning himself.

He looked to his colleague when she finally came back. "Yeah, I got tired just watching you." he said with a snort as he carefully turned his boat. The rest of the ships would meet back up At Slateport, where a shuttle would bring everyone into Mauville.

As he watched other groups of ranges fly past them on their way to gauge the environmental damage of the lost cruise ship he nodded. "I think there's a pretty good place near port in Slateport." he said as they sailed off for a well deserved break.
