Even inside, the Councilwoman would be able to feel the revelatory thrum of war. Residual brine soured by blood and storm careens past her ankles before crawling back timidly toward the Kyogre's guts.

However, in this humid darkness, she will catch the blue light of the stalactite. It calls to her too, as it once did for skyler dross. Like the RED ORB that calls for MATIAS SILPH. Like the secret other in another man's hand.

Somewhere in the whale, the stalactite of endless azure cries. Embedded against the whale's flesh as if this were its original cave, the primal javelin drips. The light of it captures freya morningstar's eye as it glimmers like the Tera Crystals infecting the land. But there is no imagination required for it to work. No ambition or self-destructive desire. Just nature and the natural order of all things.

Every time the Kyogre attacks or weathers injury, the stalactite glows. Thrums. Calls again.

like the kyogre had lunged for her, she lunges for walsh's neck. however, just as her fangs close around his lily-white skin, the kyogre yaws violently. she's torn from the murderous movement. and the two are forced to stumble on damp, salty ground. [break][break]

any other attempt made would be graced with another providential interruption: a slip on wet cartilage. a sudden dive and ascent.[break][break]

though walsh does not show it, a wave of relief flushes throughout his body. he had gambled. and won.[break][break]

this indeed, is a FIXED POINT IN TIME. Yuina Higashi and her CELEBI will also completely understand this to be true too.[break][break]

sootopolis is in peril. the core of hoenn's rocket is drowning. there is still much work to be done. while a covert Naomi Sato aspires to save the world beyond faction lines, the rocket boss views this war far past simple "victories" and "defeats".[break][break]

what will come next is far more interesting and far more delectable, for hoenn still possesses many mysteries. both new and old.[break][break]

"i thought morales would be where you are standing now." the boss says. "but the prophecy is far more literal than i thought. 'the dragon must return to its snow white lair'."[break][break]

he stares at the aberration.[break][break]

"to return to sootopolis, it must remain in one piece." [break][break]

the kyogre roars, the winds of its ancient voice coursing through its body. he gestures at the blue stalactite.[break][break]

"i have been monitoring this artifact for a long time, but i have refused its natural purpose. i have toiled laboriously to prevent the formation of its stalagmite. only through that can a new blue orb be formed." the boss says. "with no blue orb to contain it, there is only one option."[break][break]

he points his gloved finger at her.[break][break]

"you, so burdened by rayquaza's blessing, you alone can calm the kyogre." he says. "however, controlling the kyogre is no one-time endeavor. no, this is a sustained labor. a sentence decreed by nature and forced by my long planned stratagems. to stop kyogre means to save my city and to save hoenn... but it also means, you will be rooted here among enemies. forced to return and return and return to sootopolis stone to placate the kyogre and make business with the ones you so unfairly despise."[break][break]

her gaze darts uneasily to the blue stalactite, and she is forced to hesitation by fate's tempering of her flame. what choice has she now but to listen to him? the future, shrouded in his shadows, makes her bristle. more scales flake away, wilting in blood.[break][break]

"unfairly despise." her smile is cruel.[break][break]

"and if i don't, then your meddling won't have cost hundreds their lives. it will cost millions. it will be the end of everything. the primordial sea, swallowing hoenn whole."[break][break]

she cannot strip him of fate's cloak, but she can plunge her talons into her own heart to see their end.[break][break]

"and to return to sootopolis, the dragon must also remain in one piece. so tell me why," she says and blue light pulses against her back, the silhouette of her long arm. her claws flex, shifting inward. metal shivers as her sygna suit folds away from her chest. exposed, blood soaks the front of her shirt as she carves into her flesh, fingers clenched around her rampantly beating heart. her eyes are molten gold. "tell me why you fight, declan walsh."

He was truly… and literally, out of his element here.

(Maybe he should’ve gone to another part of this insanity, instead. Problem is, he was already here, and he wasn’t exactly sure how to intervene in this battle between behemoths. How powerless he felt against all these titans clashing together, making the heavens, the sea, and the very earth itself rumble.)

The comm lines were all a scramble, however there was one particular part that set him on edge—wasn’t that la idiota—

Hissing as he stayed on his Metagross’s back, he realized that if there was an opening; it was a very small one—he wanted to swap his Pokémon out however he knew that his best chance of survival lay with his Metagross. There was… there was nothing else to it, really.

Hoping that he wasn’t going to screw any of this shit up, he would Mega Evolve the shining silver beast; the transformation temporarily blinding him as the light exploded out of the silver beast and gave rise to his more powerful form.

“Greyson!” he would bellow in the other man’s direction. “Point me where you need to go, tell me what you need done and I’ll do it.”

He would have to bite down the pain from his left arm; but that was what he was out here for anyway.
