the latter is an odd sentiment. she had foster siblings growing up, but she still felt herself an only child. none of them are in contact with her today. hell, she can't even remember half of their names.

and family is a word that means so little and so much to her. her bloodline carries strength, and though she has roy, she still feels alone. lonely, at the worst of times.

fafnir follows his nose and finds a writhing mass of wyrms, sticky apple coated in sand. it's distraught and it lashes out terribly. fafnir dispatches it easily and drags it before his mistress. his snort informs her that it's the last of the dragons on this isle, or so he thinks.

"you should come visit sometime," she says, "the league draciary. i think you'd appreciate it."

Fafnir’s nose did not lie. There were no more dragons on this desolate island. However, there was a fish. A very ugly fish that looked like it was in constant pain from the mere act of existing.

“Meatloaf, Outrage again!” At its trainer’s behest, the Salamence made quick work of the wild Arctovish, sending it crashing against the rocks. Taking pity on the mutated abomination, Andrea threw one last Pokéball at it.

“I’d love to visit the draciary someday! It sounds fun!” The dragon lover beamed at Freya’s invitation, blissfully unaware of the events that were about to transpire in the coming weeks.
