Cass is slightly frantic. She's gotten a rescue mission - the irony, after having to be rescued herself - by force because she's heard rangers talking about it. The description ... way too eeriely like her baby sister. She should be fine, all things considered, because she always is, but she can't help but be anxious still.

"Chrys? Chrysanthe Eireann Kubrick? Are you here?" she asks, trying to keep her shouting voice quiet. At this point, it better not be another kid that looks just like her ... or worse, someone else despite the description.

To be quite honest, she has gotten ... a little used to this place. She is still wandering, seemingly in search for something, excruciatingly stubborn not to leave just yet. Yet, her composure is the same as usual, tinged with a fascination for the broken world around her. By now, her Mawile is accompanying her, too, growling and grumbling menacingly in case any unknown creature comes close. And this time ... "I swear I left it somewhere around ... here, maybe?" Chrysanthe mutters, finding it quite difficult to discern the landscapes from one another. But she can't just leave her notebook here ... It's probably soaked and broken beyond repair by now, but she still wants to salvage what she can.[break]

Before she can advance her search further, though, she hears a familiar voice - her name being called in a way she mostly only hears their mother calling them, when she is rather displeased. It's strange to hear it in that voice when ... "Cass? What are you doing here?" she looks around, surprised - then quite happy to see her sister. She just wants to run towards her when she feels like a force is holding her back, and then-[break]

Her eyes grow, a big chunk of steel fell from above and is now separating the two ...

There's relief as she sees Chrys, alive and unharmed, but wandering the dangerous territory of sinking Sea Mauville on her own. Who the hell has let her simply go off on their own ... all those rangers- But there's no time for misplaced fury as she hurries over, almost ignoring the environmental dangers.

And then, a shadow.

She shivers and freezes in place upon seeing the flash that holds Chrys back, an utterly eerie sight that unsettles her - and just enough, as a freaking steel beam falls right in between them. "Are you okay?!" Cass asks, her own voice trembling as she reaches for a pokéball. "Xinlan, use Metal Claw. Be careful not to trigger anything else ..."

The Empoleon nods, and while her short walk towards the beam appears clumsy as heck, she makes quick work of the steel beam.

Thankfully, her sister is quite able to make quick work of the steel structure, it falling apart soon before it could fall even further down the ground with its full weight, possibly breaking apart the platform they are standing on right now. But even so, it has only worsened the state of the building itself and driven her further from the pendant that she just can't leave without. What to do, what to do ... "C-Cass - I'm! I'm okay," they move to pat the other, though, walking carefully over her just when she notices something in the corner of her eyes. Oh ... so those are ...[break]

Quietly, she is ushering her sister towards the nearer edge of the building, crouching down. That's unpleasant ... quite so. "I don't wanna be seen by those Pokémon ... they took my pendant first ..." she mutters to herself, a frown on their face as she looks at an approaching group of Pelipper.

Cass is relieved to see and feel Chrys in good health, but it seems like they need to wait for the reunion hug. The smaller one ushers the bigger one away, towards an edge to- hide? And the story that has played here also becomes clear. Even if she's really never heard of devious Pelipper before, but there's a first for everything.

"Don't just go here for your pendant," Cass hisses and scolds, but nods as she takes out some of her pokéballs again. She quietly calls for her Pikachu Tin and her Phanpy Martin. The Pelipper look nasty, and the duo immediately understands as Xinlan keeps in the corner - stealth isn't the Empoleon's strength, for sure.

The duo manage to quickly ambush the Pelipper, even managing to defeat the entire group of them thanks to Tin's electric attacks and Matheo's well-placed distractions. They're acting as incredibly experienced duo, and successfully manage to retrieve the pendant!

"Alright, now let's go and head out of here ..." she murmurs, but! The Pelipper haven't all been defeated yet-!

Hiding back behind in the shadows, Chrysanthe is frowning at her sister's words. Well, there may be some truths and logic here, but there is still a clear sense of dissatisfaction; in most any other cases, she might have as well ignored those words, but there is always a little more lucidity when she speaks to and with her family. ... Well, sometimes, anyway. "No, I can't leave without-" she mutters, holding the Munna close to her as she only watches how Cassandra's Pokémon fend off the Pelipper - and even manage to fetch the pendant from high above! But ... still, it's not good enough.[break]

Perhaps, riled up from the battle, the Pelipper are returning for a second round, looking a little more aggressive than before. "Watch out-"

"Oh fuuuuuudge-" Cass manages to avoid swearing in front of her younger sister by a hair, looking obviously panicked as the Pelipper come around again. And there's little room left to escape in any direction, too ... let alone that a tumultuous battle could have fatal consequences.

"Prepare to run," Cass tells Chrysanthe, standing protectively in front of her. "Matheo, Charm, Tin, Double Team! Distract and then book it!" The explorer duo nods, before the Pikachu seemingly appears manifold, while the Phanpy does his best to charm some of the attackers for distraction.

"Alright-" she starts, but believes. That shadow behind her sister doesn't look like her sister-

Chrysanthe has her eyes tightly shut, feeling a boiling sense of fear taking over her - unable to follow her sister's direction of fleeing soon enough. How could she leave her pendant behind? And, of course, just in those dreadful cases that Cassandra - that Cassandra ...[break]

But before that thought finishes, she hears anxious and scared noises - the sound of Pelippers fleeing hastily, flying away without as much as looking back. It encourages her to open her eyes slowly, only noticing the usual figures of Cassandra and their Pokémon, all crawled around. "-Cass!" she clutches herself towards her, shaking a little as she mutters, "I wanna go home ... but-"[break]

Cass told her pokémon to go only into the defense, focusing on escaping alongside with Chrys who, however, wouldn't budge. But, as she is about to lift her little sister up and carry her out of there herself, she sees that shadow from behind Chrys move past her in a flash, and behind her, the group of Pelipper is defeated.

Cass pauses, but there's no sign of anything or anyone as she simply looks at the defeated birds. "Matheo, Tin, come here again. Do you still have that pendant?" she sighs, patting Chrys on her head. "See, we got what you were looking for. Let's head home."

She lies, since she hasn't found Vespa yet, but hopefully it would move Chrys faster out of the danger zone now, at least. At least something.

Unwilling to perceive much else of this 'lost castle' with all its evil overlords and henchmen, she only nods to whatever Cassandra is saying, holding the pendant close to her as soon as it's been given to her. Slowly, her breathing normalises, but there is still the tunnel vision that doesn't look up - doesn't see much of anything anymore, and particularly not the waning and waxing of her shadows as the sunlight comes and passes through clouds ...[break]

In the very least, she will be finally home ... right?
