"Let's get it!" Clover pumped a fist in the air. Psyduck made a sound that was probably supposed to be a battle cry. It was uninspiring, but Clover wouldn't hold it against her. Psyduck was one of their least articulate pokemon, but they felt there was a bond there regardless. Psyduck had stuck around this long, after all.

Third time's the charm. He ducked low to the ground at the divebombing Gligar. Maybe they were learning from each other. This one was particularly close. "You guys are still not sucker punching me!" Clover shouted over their shoulder as they hustled through the plains. They were uninterested in their poison stingers, thank you very much!

"Watch out!" The baltoy flew in from outta nowhere. Zarude's agility was on point, though. It hopped onto a tree and flipped well over the baltoy since it couldn't come to a stop fast enough to evade it. Baltoy prepared an assault, but Zarude used hammer arm to launch it up over the trees. "Oof." She flinched at the hard hit. "Let's try not to batter the pokemon here, yeah?"

Clover sighed, taking cover under a tree. That could only mean there was another Horsea using rain dance. "Can you put an end to that? I don't wanna catch a cold." Zarude nodded and took off, leaving Clover under the cover of the tree. She really didn't want to get out of the safari coughing and sneezing. Thankfully, the sound of a few vines later, Zarude had returned with a fainted Horsea on its shoulder. The rain began to dissipate. "That was fast." Zarude looked proud.

Zarude returned to Clover's side so they could walk through the dampened safari together. However, Zarude's gait seemed unusual. Clover looked at it closely. Zarude held one of its hands behind its back. "Whatcha got there?" She tried to sound casual to entice Zarude to share. [break][break]

It worked. In Zarude's exposed palm was a rock. A minior. "Ah, these things are everywhere. I think they're nocturnal given how many I've found dozing already."

A sand tomb trapped them both. Clover took a meek step backwards instinctively, back hitting rocks. Zarude growled. Then, he used hammer arm to knock against the rocks and send them flying, giving them both an opening to walk through the tomb. Zarude searched for the assailant and quickly found the scared Trapinch. It launched power whip at the Trapinch and roped the little guy back towards it. Then, Zarude finished it with another hammer arm, knocking out the sand dweller.

"Wait - be nice to this one!" Clover's request fell on deaf ears. The Popplio had eased into their path with an aloofness he found endearing, but Zarude was not a merciful pokemon. It launched itself at the water pokemon with a u-turn, aiming for speed. Fortunately, the technique left Zarude returning to its capture capsule. Clover tossed out Oricorio instead, who looked at the injured Popplio and used teetering dance to give Clover the best window of opportunity to toss a pokeball. "Okay, let's hit up a medical center, yeah?"
