An enthusiastic Litwick landed on the coffee table, filling the abandoned dwelling with the warm glow of their light. "Home sweet home." He muttered underneath his breath, pulling the mask off his face and tossing onto the sodden floor.[break][break]

It was unsurprising that the place had remained untouched since he'd defected, no one willing to live in the home of a traitor. "Guess that means our stash is still there, huh Flicker?" He smirked slightly, walking over to a particularly gaudy painting that with a small heft lifted away from the wall.[break][break]

Inset in the plaster was a small storage, where bottles packed the space neck to neck. "That's what I'm talking about." He grabbed one of the tequilas and dropped down onto the soggy couch with a sigh, digging his phone out of his pocket. [break][break]

'Cillian, I'm at my house when you're free.' Rowan quickly tapped the text out, all the while sipping from the end of the bottle.

Cillian's in Sootopolis when he gets the message, but he's not at home. There's barely a home to speak of. Sturdy exterior walls of brick had weathered the flood, but the interior is trashed. Windows broken, furniture soaked, possessions destroyed.[break][break]

The rest of Sootopolis isn't faring much better.[break][break]

He's helping clear detritus from the beach when his phone vibrates, stealing his attention.[break][break]

Rowan Wrynn.[break][break]

A mixture of pride and relief surges in his chest. His brother had survived. He'd heard that Rowan had joined the fight in Sootopolis, but he hadn't known of the outcome. There had been so much chaos.[break][break]

He wonders if Rowan has spoken to Walsh. What the Boss thinks, now.[break][break]

He can ask in person.[break][break]

He doesn't knock, instead letting himself in through a door that's still wide open from being kicked in. He steps over a discarded mask and eyes the home with muted sympathy. They'd both have a lot of rebuilding to do.[break][break]

"Rowan."[break][break]

His voice is tight with emotion. Now that his brother has proven his loyalty, sealed his pact with the devils of Team Rocket, Cillian allows himself to feel again. His chest aches.[break][break]

"M'glad you're OK."

"I'm more than okay." Rowan began, taking a sip from his glass before looking toward his brother with a small smirk. "I think I might have crippled that Head Ranger, Lawrence something?" He didn't remember much of them aside from their original battle at the Cave of Origin years ago.[break][break]

"At the very least, he won't be fighting for a while after what I did to his arm." Rowan chuckled, apparently rather proud of his performance.[break][break]

Still, he turned an amber eye toward Cillian, searching. "I hope there is no doubt in my loyalties, after today." He'd protected the Underboss, fought back the League and took on Primal Kyogre all in the name of Team Rocket. That had to be worth something.

It feels strange to hear Rowan practically crowing with pride over potentially crippling someone. Cillian can't decide if strange is good or not. Not bad, he thinks.[break][break]

Just different.[break][break]

"What did you do to him?" He can't help but to be curious how far his brother was willing to go, now. A quiet shake of his head as he sips his drink. "If I'd had doubts, I wouldn't have let you out of that cell."[break][break]

Truth was, he wanted to believe in Rowan.[break][break]

"Walsh hasn't said anything to me." A reason to CELEBRATE. "I can only assume that's good. He's been busy as the rest of us, but I expect he'd have confronted me by now if it wasn't."

Rowan raised the glass to his lips, taking a small drink. There was something in his features akin to disappointment, the chagrin of the unfulfilled. [break][break]

"If it wasn't for Anderson's counter-attack I probably could have amputated the arm entirely." He shrugged, dismissively.[break][break]

The lack of communication from declan walsh elicited a somber nod from the former Beast. "I see." Another disappointed drink, certain his actions in the battle would have netted him some modicum of approval. "Oh well, obscurity is preferable to being in Walsh's crosshairs. Cheers to that." [break][break]

Rowan held his glass aloft, waiting for Cillian to return the gesture with a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "To Team Rocket, and to the Quinn brothers once more reunited."[break][break]

Anderson may or may not have died, but a severe injury could just as easily knock him out of the war for a while. Though he'd lost his position as Head Ranger, he remained a formidable opponent.[break][break]

"What of his Articuno?"[break][break]

Ordinarily, it was someone like Cillian who was left to clash with the man on account of his Avatarship. But he hadn't noticed the bird in Sootopolis, and that rung strange.[break][break]

He shrugs it off, focusing instead on Rowan Wrynn's disappointment.[break][break]

"We've hardly spoke," he amends in paltry reassurance. "It's been chaos between the three cities. We took Petalburg, if you haven't heard, but the bulk of our force retreated from Mossdeep when Kyogre breached the crater." He sighs, sharp. "Not that it did much good."[break][break]

He drowns his bitterness with drink, clinking his glass against Rowan's. "To the Quinns."

"I saw Lulu." Rowan began, taking a small drink. "When I was in the brig, she came and paid me a violent visit." Wasn't the first, but it was the most unexpected.[break][break]

"Sounds like Councilwoman Livy did a number on her, psychologically." He remembered the vitriol, the venom spat at him for the lies that Penelope had told.[break][break]

A soft sigh escaped his lips, running a hand through his hair. "I tried to get her to understand that the Councilwoman had used her avatar powers to compell me to speak, but she wasn't having any of it."[break][break]

There was a pregnant pause in the air, as though Rowan wasn't sure if he should continue to comment. Still, the words got the better of him. "I thought of all people she might understand, after..." [break][break]

He snapped off the end of that sentence like a rotten limb, glancing towards his brother with a knowing look.
