there's a clang nearby, and maki follows it to find a bisharp carving something out the ice nearby. her annihilape nearly pounces then and there, but she puts an arm out and whispers, "wait." it gives her an annoyed look, but obeys. the bisharp is looking almost directly at them, with their only cover being behind another large ice floe. if they approach it this way, they won't have the element of surprise.

for a breath or two, it seems as if they might be spotted. but then the bisharp turns, and maki raises her hand. "cross chop." her annihilape launches itself at its opponent, bounding across the snow. the bisharp hears its approach, but too late, as it turns to receive the cross chop dead on. thanks to the poor type match up, it collapses to one knee immediately, briefly trying to hold itself together before crumpling entirely.

maki throws a pokeball. this one might be a little weak, but i can work with it, she observes.
