Even with all the recent destruction and debilitation in the region the Safari zone never truly stopped. Maybe it just brought in too much money for the owners to bother closing.[break][break]

Tempest was here, yet again. This month's mission was one to ease his own heart.[break][break]

Marina was his stalwart companion. The Sharpedo had been through a lot. When she was just a Carvanna, she had been injured badly by a boating accident. The scars from it still littered and lined her body. Now, all these years later, she had turned into a brute of a pokemon under Tempest's tender care. She was fast and powerful, huge, and loyal to him unflinchingly. Tempest cared deeply for her.[break][break]

Rumor was that some of the Carvanna spotted here were... large. Quite large like Marina had been. Back when Tempest was still playing Gym Leader, he had used to her to assist in official breeding programs and other such things. Conservation mattered to him then. It still mattered, even if it was so far on the backburner he hadn't thought about it in ages.[break][break]

So there was a chance... this may be one of Marina's children. Or even a grandchild! Tempest had come here today to investigate...

That was the ugliest Treecko that Tempest had ever seen.[break][break]

Where normally the pretty emerald coloring would shine through, this one seemed an odd purple. It skitters around in a tree, barely visible if not for the outlandish color.[break][break]

Clicking his tongue, a pokeball is pulled out. His Ninetails strides beside him, the Shadowed pokemon silently judging her quarry.[break][break]

It is taken out quickly with flame and teeth.[break][break]

Before Marian can finish it off, Tempest tosses a safari ball at it.

Tempest bends over to pick up his pokeball, showing off that cake for anyone who might be peeking through the security cameras. Thank Mother than he was in a vague disguise.[break][break]

Tucking it into his pocket, Tempest sees a very speedy little chick running around. He watches it with Marian for a bit before glancing away. While these guys were super cute he wasn't really interested in the Torchic.[break][break]

Whistling, he called Marian to his side before stomping deeper into the zone.

Up ahead, a Mudkip plays in a puddle. It looks silly, like the meme that he sent to Cillian Quinn the other day. Wasn't this one of the pokemon he came here for, too?[break][break]

Nodding to Marian, the Shadow Ninetails snaps her long tails before darting forward. While her flames aren't as strong on the little water type, she does have her SOLAR BEAM to even out the odds. She quickly is able to take down the much smaller pokemon.[break][break]

Tempest tossed a safari ball at the little pokemon and hums to himself. He thinks he's getting closer to the water features.

Even as the water draws closer it gets hotter and hotter. The humidity starts to run down the back of his neck as steam fills the air.[break][break]

Marian pants beside him, fluffy fur looking more soggy that usual. Curled up next to one of the heaters is a Numel, blue on the back, dozing and not aware. Tempest glances at it for a moment before nodding to his pokemon for action.[break][break]

Picking up the pokeball, Tempest kneels down by the large pool of water set up for the Carvanha. There is only one in there right now; a yellow and green female. She's massive. Even from here, Tempest can see the familiar cut of her teeth, the sleek curve of fins.[break][break]

This one is for sure one of Marina's.[break][break]

"Marian," Tempest calls his pokemon over, then glances down at the water type. The fox wanders over, peering down into the depths. "Solar Beam it."[break][break]

A piercing force of energy cuts into the water. The Carvanha floats to the top of the pool. Tempest tosses his last Safari Ball.[break][break]

He'd gotten what he came for.
