Once again, Roy found himself exploring the outer rim of the sapphire lake he had visited just days ago. But this time, things were different. Instead of being accompanied by the fiery charizard of his youth, he now had the responsibility of walking his legendary hound.

The legendary beast wasn't one to be easily led. Instead of Roy walking his dog, it felt more like the dog was walking him, pulling him through the Safari Zone with an intensity that left Roy struggling to keep up. They were still figuring each other out, testing boundaries, and learning what was too much or too little.

This trip through the Safari Zone was more than just a stroll; it was a journey of mutual discovery, a chance for Roy and his legendary companion to forge a deeper bond while navigating the wilds on their own.

As the tiny reptile appeared, the Zygarde’s attention locked onto it instantly. Without hesitation, the legendary canine bolted ahead, stretching the green leash as it gave chase. Roy hurried to close the distance, just as intrigued by the oddly-colored Treecko as it darted through the underbrush, trying to escape the inquisitive hound.

"You're going to scare it off," Roy called out, tugging gently on the leash to rein in the energetic Zygarde. The unusual coloring of the Treecko caught his eye, sparking thoughts of adding another Grass-type to his team.

Zygarde’s pursuit backed the Treecko into a corner, forcing it to sprint toward Roy in desperation. The little pokemon scrambled up his body in an attempt to flee from the dog, but this only made things easier. With a swift move, Roy retrieved a sphere and tapped it against the Treecko’s posterior. A flicker of light sealed the deal, confirming the capture with ease.

Next, they encountered a line of six Duckletts trailing behind a larger Swanna. Struggling to keep pace at the back of the group was an oddly-colored Torchic. This time, the Zygarde held its curiosity in check, moving with a calmness that suggested it had learned some patience.

"Take it easy," Roy murmured, sensing the legendary's careful intentions.

The pair approached slowly, careful not to alarm the family. They watched as the mother Swanna gracefully leapt into a nearby pond, with her Duckletts waddling in after her. But as the line reached the Torchic, it hesitated. Being a Fire-type, the little pokemon was reluctant to follow its watery companions. By the time Roy and Zygarde got closer, the Torchic was kicking and pecking at the grass in frustration.

Zygarde gave the fiery chick a gentle sniff before Roy knelt down, offering a safari ball. He didn’t force it, allowing the Torchic to decide for itself whether it wanted to join them.

From the same pond, a new potential companion emerged. At first, it was just a single purple fin, slicing through the water like the tip of some ocean predator. It drifted where the Duckletts had swum, pausing now and then as if scouting the area.

Roy and his hound watched intently, their eyes widening with each stop. Slowly, the creature reached the pond's edge, its body breaking through the surface. As it climbed onto the shore, a purple Mudkip stood before them, its beady black eyes just as curious as theirs.

“Easy now,” Roy cautioned, trying to keep the Zygarde's curiosity in check. The legendary dog crept closer, leash still tight around Roy’s arm. As Zygarde leaned in to sniff the small amphibian, the Mudkip bolted in fear, dashing across the grass in a desperate escape.

Zygarde instinctively gave chase, yanking Roy along with it, the leash pulling him forward in an unwilling pursuit. Though the legendary hound meant no harm, the frightened Mudkip didn’t know that. The whole scene appeared to be something out of a meme. In an effort to calm the chaos, Roy quickly retrieved a ball and threw it at the fleeing Mudkip, hoping to bring the wild chase to an end.

Up ahead, a lone camel wandered near the path, its unusual blue hue setting it apart from the environment. Despite its proximity to a water source, the Numel paid no attention, its fire-typing likely responsible for the indifference. Its exterior was layered, the blue markings resembling icing on a cake. The comparison briefly made Roy's mouth water before he snapped back to reality as his hound displayed interest.

Roy allowed the Zygarde to lead, its nose guiding them across the field. The Numel, just as curious, mirrored the legendary dog's actions, sniffing the ground as it slowly approached. As they neared each other, the two creatures reacted with playful joy, spiraling around one another as Roy stood back. They couldn’t seem to get enough of each other's scents, their interaction building trust as they rubbed against each other in a gentle display of bonding.

"Looks like you're ready for a new home," Roy murmured, kneeling down and revealing a poke ball. With a soft tap to the Numel’s head, a flicker of light confirmed the capture.

Moments later, the Safari Zone alarm echoed through the area, signaling that it was time for all trainers to return to the front.
