The Loyal Three’s tracks had been found in Petalburg Woods, which meant those miscreants could not have gone that far. Soon after her talk with Hideo Kino and Uxie, Andrea and Ogerpon went to search every nook and cranny of Route 104.

It was an area dangerously close to the newly Rocket-occupied city, meaning it was likely teeming with grunts. The young PokéManiac’s choice of attire was not exactly the pinnacle of stealth. Neither was the presence of her ogreish friend for that matter.

“Grrrr… Pon!” Catching the familiar scent of a Toxic Chain in the air, the orange-faced Oni bared her fangs. She could recognize that scent anywhere after what she had endured in that penitentiary of prism.

“I’m right behind you, Pon! Let’s get them!” The eccentric cosplayer followed after a ninja-running Ogerpon, her heart pumped with adrenaline. Like Pon, she too had a score to settle with those fiends.

Today was the day they would finally put the never-rot’s twisted creations to rest. Permanently.

Why did Andrew continue to put himself through all this crap?

It was bad enough that he had to deal with some of the 'lunatics' within Rocket. Especially when those Kanto assholes joined the fray. More people like Zev Harcourt or dorian westcliff were the last thing Andrew wanted to deal with.

But then, Andrew remembered why he served those 'psychotic pricks' in the first place. The money that could be used to pay off his mountain of debt. A position 'ruling' Rocket's world didn't sound too bad either. Being in a position of power, even if he was just another lowly enforcer, was much better than being at the bottom of the food chain, better than being just another target for those Kanto psychos. Not to mention he could easily hunt down and brutalize his detractors for all the hell they gave him over the years.

That, and if he leveled up enough, he might finally achieve his own 'Emerald City.' A luxurious manor on a scenic cliffside, overlooking all the peasants toiling under Rocket's world order. His own personal division of Rocket to perform his will, perhaps bringing some of his mods into the fold.

Almost nobody's mothers would be safe.

As a masked Andrew patrolled Petalburg Woods, he heard a familiar sound. That stupid beast that kicked the shit out of him, back when he was abducted by those Megalopolan assholes.

"Yo, Screech, let's get that fucker!", the streamer told his Toxic Chained Archeops.

The Archeops, emboldened by the Toxic Chain binding him, charged headfirst towards the source of the sound. Building up Agility, the toxified fossil let out a frightful screech, as he closed in on the duo.

As soon as the dynamic duo beheld the magenta chain wrapped around the Archeops’ barely airworthy body, it brought out their worst deep-seated grudges, human and ogre perfectly mirroring each other in their fits of spiteful rage.

“What did you do to that Pokémon?! Are you serving the never-rot?!” Andrea did not wait for an answer, immediately activating her Z-Ring. No explanation or excuse could placate her. She wanted revenge. She wanted justice.

The never-rot was the embodiment of evil. The Toxic Chain was its sinful mark. Therefore, purging that abomination was not only right, it was their duty. That was her and Ogerpon’s single-minded objective right then and there.

“Disappear! Disappear! Disappear! MEMORIES OF ONIGASHIMA!!”

“GRAAAAH!! POOON!!!!”

The diminutive ogress sprouted a pair of gigantic arms made of ivy and thorns, with which she delivered a ruthless flurry of punches, each with the potential to turn the primordial bird into a fossil anew.

This Z-Move also had a secondary effect. As some of the punches inevitably connected with the ground, it imbued the soil with nutrients, causing a Grassy Terrain to manifest.

As a disguised Andrew rushed in behind the Archeops, his gaze fixed on the green oni, and the redhead accompanying her. No doubt, he encountered them aboard that awful ship. And the Ogerpon was wearing the same mask that his Warden, Munkidori, was wearing before they killed that fucker.

He didn't care that Ogerpon didn't capture him, she still made his life a living hell. For that, she had to pay!

"The fuck you talking about, you crazy bitch!? I just fed them a fuckin' berry!", Andrew retorted, hostility in his voice.

If Ogerpon could recognize the scent of the Lousy Three, could she recognize Andrew's scent? Did she even pick up on it, or memorize it?

"The fu- OH FUCK, DODGE IT!", Andrew called out to his Archeops.

Like his master, Screech desperately tried to fight the inevitable, panic setting in. No matter how hard the prehistoric bird tried, the fists the Ogerpon manifested pummeled the bird mercilessly. By the time the beating was done, the Archeops was on its last legs.

Normally, Screech was ready to throw in the towel, at this point. Thanks to the Toxic Chain that infested him, the Archeops was no longer a Defeatist. Instead, the prehistoric avian was furious. Just like his master, the duo wanted to exact their vengeance onto the stupid little oni.

Andrew had to restrain himself for ranting about her using a "gimmick", or using it so early.

"Fuck that little bitch up! Toxic Swing!", Andrew called out.

The heavily battered Archeops extended his Toxic Chain, and attempted to whip Ogerpon with a merciless Toxic Swing.

Andrea’s inability to control her anger proved to be an exploitable weakness. Normally, she would have ordered Ogerpon to protect against that swing, but in her immensely triggered state, she just wanted to see that prehistoric bird end up in a museum.

“Gah… P-pon…” The masked Oni was badly poisoned by the Toxic Chain’s venomous touch, groaning in pain and retching. In spite of that, she powered through, using the Grassy Terrain’s gradual healing to offset the damage.

“Pon, Incinerate that Archeops!” At its caretaker’s order, the former mad beast of the feeding pit spewed out flames of rage against the unfortunate target of the duo’s wrath.

Andrew watched with satisfaction as the Toxic Chain struck the Ogerpon. Seeing the beast become afflicted with poison made the streamer want to celebrate.

"That's what you get! That's what you fuckin' get, bitch!", Andrew gloated.

"Oh shit!", Andrew exclaimed, as the Archeops was sprayed with the incinerating blast. The Archeops cried out, as he dropped to the ground, rendered unconscious.

Before the Ogerpon could finish him off, Andrew quickly pulled out a normal-looking Pokeball, and recalled the bird. He then pulled out another bog-standard Pokeball from his belt, giving the limpest, most pathetic toss to the ground possible. Making it clear that the Rocket, despite wielding the power of the Toxic Chain, didn't know what he was doing.

A Toxic Chained Metagross emerged from the Pokeball. "Psychic!", the streamer ordered.

The Metagross attempted to fire a Psychic blast at the Oni. If it hit, he'd be shocked to find that the attack didn't confuse the beast.

Little did he know that his Metagross was supposed to have been the one to have poisoned the Ogerpon, in order to benefit from Miasmic Mind.

Even without an added effect, Metagross’ Psychic was quite strong, forcing the poisoned ogress to her knees. The last of her vitality was drained by the Toxic Chain’s lingering, pestiferous influence, causing the Oni to collapse.

“Pon, return!” Andrea withdrew the fainted Ogerpon, pursing her lips. She had not expected a second Toxic Chained abomination to show up. That pale, haggard zombie of a man was likely a bigger threat than his scrawny physique and pitiful throw might suggest.

She would show him a proper throw. Jalapeño’s Pokéball was shaking with RAGE. The Fuecoco was eager to fight and make his human mommy proud. The costumed woman threw the ball with the skill of a professional pitcher, letting the small crocodile out.

“Let them hear you sing, Jalapeño! Sing the song of angry men!”

“FUE-CO-COOOOO ♪”

Empowered by its trainer’s Sygna Suit, the red reptile belted out an operatic Torch Song, spewing raging hot flames from its mouth in an attempt to super-effectively scorch the opposing Steel-type.

"Yeah! Take that, you little shit!", Andrew gloated.

It felt good to finally get revenge on that little shit.

Of course, the battle was far from over, as the girl brought out a Fuecoco. "You brought that into-", the masked Rocket began, before she activated her Sygna Suit, much to his shock and disgust.

The Torch Song managed to take out the Metagross, forcing the Rocket to recall the Pokemon.

"Why the fuck am I not surprised!? Not only do you use some random Pokemon nobody's ever heard of, but then you have to use a fucking Sygna Suit as a crutch! Un-fucking-believable!", Andrew ranted. "How about you get some fucking skill, bitch!", Andrew carried on, before bringing out another Pokemon.

The Nidoking roared as he took to the field. "Poison Jab!", the man called out.

The Nidoking attempted to rush down the Fuecoco, and jab them with his glowing horn.

The reptilian cosplayer didn’t even dignify her opponent’s salt-induced rant with a response. She knew that their victory was no fluke. Jalapeño had really come a long way. From getting one-shotted by Isaac Merlo’s Totodile to holding his own in a high-stakes battle.

Now that the Toxic Chain was no longer within her field of view, the young PokéManiac was significantly calmer, though her bitterness remained. “Someone who sold his soul to the never-rot has no right to complain.” She bluntly stated, willfully deactivating her Sygna Suit.

Nidoking’s attack had left her Fuecoco poisoned, but that was about to change imminently. A glowing Tera Orb was hurled into the air, and soon, a turtle-shaped hat manifested atop the crocodile’s head, orbited by floating, hexagonal crystals representing each of the 18 types.

“Jalapeño, no matter what happens, I’m proud of you! I love you!” Andrea proclaimed, smiling as any mother proud of her son would. Their bond was one that transcended blood and even species. “Now show them your Stellar power!”

And show them he did! Cured of any previous status ailments, the Stellar-Type Fuecoco fired a boosted Tera Blast that contained the power of every single type at once.

"Toxic Chain actually takes skill to use!", Andrew protested uselessly. Skill that he lacked, though he'd be the last to realize that.

As she deactivated her Sygna Suit, she activated her Tera Orb. The man looked on in shock and disgust under his mask. "How many bullshit ass gimmicks are you gonna use, you fuckin' scrub!?", Andrew asked in frustration.

The Nidoking was sent flying back by the Tera Blast. Andrew hastily recalled King. "Fuck this!", he shouted, before running off in an awkward fashion, one that resembled a skip of sorts.

As Andrew ran as far as his legs could take him, he screamed out to the sky. How could he get his entire team wiped like that!? Despite having defeated that stupid little oni that tormented him aboard the Megalopolan Ship, the rest of his team got swept by a stupid little Fuecoco.

Was Andrew gonna set aside his pride, and actually invest in what he considered gimmicks for those without skills? Did they really offer such an edge to those who wielded them?
