Hello Darkness, my old friend ...[break]

Though, it's probably not that bad. His shin still hurts from that one Torchic's kick, though, and he isn't even sure where she ran off to, again, since she seems to find the idea of a Pokéball fairly optional. Hah ... whatever. It's not like he takes her on much adventures, so he guesses she can just widdle off to her own if she so pleases. At least she is usually lured back by the premise of a meal. Now, though, as he enters the Safari Zone for the second time, his typical companions of Y and Z accompanying him as X takes a backseat, he looks around to see what there else might be in this space that seems to change every once in a while to accommodate the various Pokémon species.

In the end, he pulls forth the Rotom from its Pokéball, a snicker emerging immediately as it floats around him, zig-zagging around as Xuying sighs out. "Well, aren't you having some fun ..." he only mutters, rolling his eyes. Fortunately enough, he decided to turn off his phone or the Rotom might have possessed it by now, playing one 'funny' video after another, though they mostly bore him out if not. In this way, at least it would be able to help with the task at hand, catching a few more Pokémon that he hasn't caught so far. (Which, honestly, he's starting with almost of a blank slate here.)[break]

Though he briefly makes eye contact with a Treecko, he quickly hurries off to somewhere else - after all, he already has one sitting back home, there is no need for another.

Upon seeing the Torchic, Xuying cannot escape faster - he is not usually a runner of any kind, but there is something about the Torchic he has at home that ... no, he won't be taking any chances, so he takes the biggest lap he can, so he does not have to encounter this strange being. Hopefully he wouldn't have to run into that many Fire starters in his life anymore ...

He almost feels out of breath as he finally comes to a halt after a while, glad that the Torchic he saw hasn't seen him, apparently. Or maybe it wasn't out for vengeance as much as the last ... He shakes his head. "Couldn't care less, ey?" he straightens his coat as he mentions it to the shiny Rotom that only gives him a snicker back - at least it hasn't possessed his phone and took ridiculous pictures ...[break]

Xuying frantically pulls out his phone, looking through it with hasty movements to ensure that neither his camera roll have weird pics, nor that the Rotom already sent some to the many group chats he has for some reason. Luckily, that doesn't seem to be the case as he lets out a sigh of relief, all the while continuing to work on the path given ...[break]

... until he trips. Hard.[break]

The phone makes a ridiculous arch in the air as the researcher loses his grip on it, as he falls face-first on the ground, arms outstretched, in a most comical order. "What the-" he groans, barely hearing his own voice over the maniacally loud cackle of the Rotom as it zaps around him, around and 'round. Only when he is able to gain a semblance of composure, is he able to see that he just tripped over ... a Arceus-be-damned Numel. One of a different colouring than he would remember, but a Numel nonetheless. He sighs as he makes eye contact with the other, and just throws a ball, a little lamely.[break]

Just as he dusts off his jacket and tries to ignore the increasing laughter coming from the sidelines, there seems to be a shift in the scenery. After picking up the safari ball with the shiny Numel in it, he ... cannot help but to feel like there is some bad omen. He cannot feel like there is something that he should be aware of, but clearly is not.[break]

A shiver runs down his spine as he turns around ... to only the barest sight of a lake behind him, as most of his vision is soon taken by a very fast, very speedy, disturbingly agile Carvanha that comes right at him.[break]
[break]
"Yike-!" he is only able to yell out before he quickly throws a safari ball, hoping it would get this one out of sight, even if he also doesn't think like he actually wants to catch it. But ... well, he does not have one so far ... And all the while, the Rotom is no particular help at all.

After successfully catching the Carvanha, too, he has to take a few moments to normalise his breathing - the rate of his heartbeat as he slowly inhales and exhales a couple of times. If the safari is always this ... turbulent, he does wonder where it will end in the long run. "Sheesh ... but let's continue, we have one more ball to throw," Xuying hums as he gestures for the Rotom to follow him.[break]

Much to his luck, the next species he does encounter is quite familiar - the Metagross used to be a Beldum after all, and after a couple of attacks exchanged between the Beldum and the Rotom, he is able to throw a ball and catch the last one. "Hah ... almost feels nostalgic, not, Y?" he looks over, though it doesn't seem like the dual type is sharing his opinion much. With an amused smile, he shrugs, "eh, let's go home."
