Aurelie had never really interacted with the Rocket Beast Tempest Quinn before, though she'd heard a few stories and seen him at a couple events in the past. She vaguely remembered him trading barbs and bets in the S.P.E.C.T.R.A Gauntlet spectators' gallery, as well as at her own recent cooking events.

She didn't remember if she had noticed the Rocket Beast specifically during the invasion of Sootpolis by Kyogre and the League. But she did remember seeing Cillian Quinn's Lugia there, and...well, it might be simplistic, but she assumed that where one spouse went, the other followed.

If Temp had been in Sootopolis too, she wondered if being in Petalburg now would feel just as strange and uncomfortable for him as it did for her. She wondered if he too resented the damage done to the city and the shocking treaty that was forced on Rocket. Surely, he must.

After all, I barely even fought anyone, and I still hated it, Aurelie reflected bitterly. He's been part of Rocket far longer than me, and he's stronger than me too. I doubt he wanted peace any more than I did, after everything Kyogre and the League did.

But here they were, in Petalburg instead of Sootopolis. Instead of the sapphire-blue waters of the crater lake, they found themselves in the midst of trees, underbrush, and ponds. Aurelie pulled the hood of her jacket higher over her head and tugged her scarf higher as a chilly sea breeze blew past.

Only the faintest rustle of a few leaves behind her alerted her to Temp's approach. She turned her head and smiled softly in greeting.

In a low murmur, not loud enough to be heard more than a few feet away, Aurelie said, "Hello, sir. I'm looking forward to working with you." A wry smile curled her lips as she added, "I only wish it was happening under better circumstances."
