Nobody knew he was here. Nobody cared. There was no meaning to any of the fights Rex engaged in after the first. Everything after Grigori Sokolov and Alba Evovae was nothing more than a meaningless skirmish. There, he had been fighting to protect someone. Now, he was simply sating his own ego.

Fighting Tempest Quinn had been meaningless, too. People had died, but that was par for the course. It was expected. There was nothing strange about fighting that man, even if the fight had been a meaningless struggle.

So when he saw the man from Sea Mauville, Rex broke out into a wide grin, waving a hand slick with blood. His mouth frothed with poison.

"HEY!" He shouted at Gaius. "HEY!"

He trudged forward on a twisted leg, his eyes alight with fervent passion as he trudged forward. His lungs threatened to burst, but he wouldn't deny the man he knew was a battle junkie his pound of flesh. Especially if it meant that he carve his own pound as well.

"FIGHT ME! You're a trainer, right! Our eyes are about to meet." He spouted off stereotypical nonsense like it was dogma. "You know what that means, right? Right!?"

There was a voice it was familiar to him, and he turned his gaze to it narrowing it at the visage in front of him.

They hadn't been able to finish their last bout, and Gaius let his lips spread into a wide smile.

"I will not be interrupted this time...." So many things had prevented him from carving out others during that so called siege that was not so long ago.

This time he wouldn't hold back, and from the get go he would go all out, and so his Lucario appeared next to him, and he tapped the gem on his neck. The Keystone activated, and his Lucario shone in a brilliant glow before it changed.

It had Mega Evolved, and it's aura surged around it dangerously.

"It means I am going to finish what was denied me last time. Go." He commanded his hound, and already an Aura Sphere was launched towards his opponent, or whatever Pokemon he sent out to meet them. Either was fine.

Althus Rex

Gaius's Pokemon Mega Evolved. Rex's did, as well. From a remarkably classic Pokeball throw, the trainer's locket opened to reveal a Key Stone. As the Aura Sphere flew forward, Gallade's blade cut the energy ball in two, sending the two halves careening into a nearby forest.

Boom! Several Pidoves flew into the sky.

"Good, good, good! Mega Evolving off the back is bold, but I fuck with it! You've gotten stronger!" Rex laughed as his Gallade ran forward, footsteps pounding on the ground as it twirled through the air, intent on spilling the Lucario's blood with an Aqua Cutter. "But so have I!"

They've fought once, but Rex knew Gaius well. The older man wouldn't be satisfied with a mere spectator sport. He craved something more.

Who was Rex to deny him?

"Fetch!" Rex picked up a rock, tossed it up in the air once, before throwing it directly at Gaius's head.
