Words echoed into his ear canals. Lazily he turned his head keeping his back to the newcomer acting as if they weren't even worth his effort to fully turn around.

Boredom stretched across his features at the words restricted.

For him nothing was off limits, for the world was his to roam.

"I am searching for worthy adversaries....I have yet to find any." Red eyes darted to the creature at her side, with it's twisted aura.

"Or maybe I have. Are you strong?" Came the simple words to the girl.

His Illumina Metagross floated near him, and he waited for an answer.

Yuina Higashi

Power....

It always came back to power....

Back then, and now....

It was his lack of strength that caused him to fail time, and again.

However in this region he had seen it with his own eyes. Gods, and Monsters made manifest doing the bidding of those that they called master.

That was the sort of power that he needed to get his hands on.

With that kind of power he would be able to attract all the fighting that he could ever want, and a grin spread across his lips. Keeping his eyes fixed to the stars he found another constellation that represented the essence of what he was thinking.

It was a large creature that dwarfed all others around it. Or was it some sort of landmass? Gaius didn't know, but he still marveled at it. He bet that thing could wield endless power between it's fingers, if it had any.

Reaching out with his own hand in a mock grab of the celestial figure.

"I will have my own power one day....Then I will defeat all of those who wield the titans....".

Gaius was resting when all you did was fight as hard as he did rest was paramount.

The adrenaline in his veins wore off just as suddenly as it came, and some semblance of peace overcame him.

He lay in the dirt looking up at the sky counting the stars hoping that sleep would overtake him.

There were many rivals that he now had to find, and face again.

howard slayte , Althus Rex , Eduardo Hisakawa , kyle lopez ....

They might have forgotten him, but he hadn't forgotten them.

It was unfinished business, battles interrupted, or in the case of kyle lopez potential yet unrealized.

His mind was calm, even as his body ached, and creaked. This moment of solace did not come easy to him, but a warrior knew when they had to heal, and that was what he needed to do in this moment.

So he saw his favorite constellation, he didn't know why it was favorite, but it brought him a measure of peace that he found nowhere else. Someone told him the story of the Rabbit who snatched victory from the Jaws of Death.

Though he had been told once by ■■■■■ that Death was the great equalizer. No matter how great a man you were the Reaper took all equally. It was the only thing that all of humanity had in common.

Continuing to stare at the stars he felt a migraine coming.

Rubbing his temple he frowned at the pain as it interrupted this blissful moment.

He would rest, and tomorrow he would hunt.

The nightmares came once again as they always did, but he fought them off, much like the Rabbit he would always find victory. The Jaws of Death would never find him.

There was a voice it was familiar to him, and he turned his gaze to it narrowing it at the visage in front of him.

They hadn't been able to finish their last bout, and Gaius let his lips spread into a wide smile.

"I will not be interrupted this time...." So many things had prevented him from carving out others during that so called siege that was not so long ago.

This time he wouldn't hold back, and from the get go he would go all out, and so his Lucario appeared next to him, and he tapped the gem on his neck. The Keystone activated, and his Lucario shone in a brilliant glow before it changed.

It had Mega Evolved, and it's aura surged around it dangerously.

"It means I am going to finish what was denied me last time. Go." He commanded his hound, and already an Aura Sphere was launched towards his opponent, or whatever Pokemon he sent out to meet them. Either was fine.

Althus Rex

He wasn't strong enough....Not yet....

So he wandered this region seeking those who were worthy, and he felt something in his gut.

Something that drew him towards the next fight, a tug of his spirit, and soon he stumbled upon....A child?

It didn't matter, child, adult, elder, man, or woman. On the battlefield all were equal before him.

An oddly colored Metagross would appear, and the Gravity of the surrounding area would intensify as he locked eyes with his newest fight. They would not get away from him via normal means.

"You, I feel something. Are you like the one who wields titans?" Perhaps it was good luck that Gaius was always able to find those that he would deem worthy. Or maybe it was terrible luck? It didn't matter.

With his Metagross at his side, his body posture said it all. He was going to fight this child, to fuel this feeling in his soul until his light vanished.

Hideo Kino

That city had fallen spectacularly, the man had told him that if he got that Titan he would become stronger, and that had not been a lie.

The sheer unbridled power of the Rock, and Ice Titans was enough to make his own blood shiver in delight. He needed to fight them, he needed to fight that man.

However as he currently was he knew that he wasn't powerful enough to take on either of those creatures without incurring significant losses for insignificant gains.

He needed to get stronger.

That was why he was on the outskirts of this city adjacent to the ruined one, and he was training. His faithful Hound was squared up against its fiery counterpart, and the two of them clashed violently.

The battle was so intense that it was keeping the wild pokemon away, and Gaius merely watched. To fight tooth, and claw to give it your all. To put your life on the line. Only when your soul was in danger of shattering could it be galvanized.

Gaius needed to galvanize his own soul, and his pokemons so that he could properly fight that man. He had found two Apexes so far, he was sure that there were more, but they were the ones at the top that he wanted to devour for now.

If he found more, then he would add them to the list.

Althus Rex

The strange pokemon wielded by the stranger girl used a strange power that he wasn't familiar with.

He didn't care, and refocused his efforts on the Noble Pokemon in front of him.

The rocks that came his way were swiftly cut apart by Metal Claw, and with each rock destroyed the Mega Lucario closed the gap further, and once more attempted to shred into it's prey with it's claws.

It had Adapted from it's attack before, and so now they sharper able to pierce through flesh, and rock alike. There would be no escaping this.

"You have failed to convince me." Came the reply to her assertion that they were strong enough. If that was their grand attack it had failed in it's endeavor.

The Flame Body would activate, and the burn would hinder his hound, and it would soon be met with the crashing of her bird, clothed in flames of fury crashing into him.

Perhaps a normal trainer might have swapped out his pokemon.

A normal trainer would have seen the disadvantage.

However Gaius was none of those things, and instead he placed a hand on the Keystone that he wore around his neck, and his Lucario was soon bathed in a soft blue glow.

The burn was sundered from existence as his form changed. Now standing before her was Mega Lucario, and he let out a piercing roar.

Claws of Meta extended far more ferocious than before, jagged swords of retribution as they sought to find purchase in the flesh of the foe in front of him. It's new Adaptability made it's attacks even more deadly than before.

Gaius all the while was just smiling at the scenario.

Was it amusement?

Was it happiness?

Only he knew.

AIRI WATANABE

Gravity intensified in the area around the powerplant. Gaius had come here for no grand or noble reason.

This place offered prey, it offered training, and so he would sink his fangs into them.

A Metagross was at his side with strange markings that to someone knowledgeable enough would identify it as a Illumina pokemon.

However that was the only light his opponents would see as soon the ground underneath them would quake, shake, and break apart as a powerful Accretion sundered his surroundings knocking them all out in one swoop.

Gaius left the wreckage of this fight in his wake, and he marched on deeper into the depths of this place.

These could not sate his hunger.

If he was spotted, he didn't notice, and continued to leave a trail of broken, and fainted pokemon behind him.

Yuina Higashi

A creature encroached upon this garden, and it would meet with the loyal Hound.

Thus when a pulse of draconic energy was used, Extreme Speed was quick to evade, and smash into the opponent, and in a follow up attack a point blank Aura Sphere.

The Dragon was sent reeling backwards into a nearby wall cracking it. Defiant to the end the twin headed beast stood up ready to continue, but a beam of red surrounded it as a pokeball was tossed to capture it.

One....

Two....

Ding....

Gaius stepped forward, and picked the ball up.

"I have use for you." With that a new beast was added to his collection.
