As quickly as it all began, it was all over. Yuina's distortion broke, the exertion, the panic, it was all too much for her to control, and the barrier subsided as both of the women who had attacked them made their leave. Yuina was left staring at the crimson that coated the tip of her seamitar in her trembling grip, there were so many things that had taken away her control over it, over herself... And that was clear in the drops of blood that remained on the ground in front of her. And behind that, the spears that would have meant her death that had clattered to the ground...[break][break]
Everything was quiet, and Yuina glanced first to find Daikenki's fallen figure among the grass, but as her panic mounted at seeing him unmoving, she couldn't make it to him before Melody came towards her... Furious.[break]
She was seething in the same rage that attempted to take the life of the woman that she would have put in harms way, and it was palpable. And... it was directed at her...?[break][break]
"Wh-what," Yuina was incredulous, scared... Her power was in full force around her... And she could still hear Melody's voice overtaking her...[break]

Bewildered had not even begun to describe how she was feeling. They had a chance to stop them and make a dent in rocket's forces. Whoever those two were it was clear that they were more important than just average grunts. [break][break]

However despite her anger melody acts out of concern for Yuina. "Yuina! What were you thinking?!" she asks her as melody's powers slowly started to wind down. The rocks clatter to the floor and melody lands on the floor softly. [break][break]

"I could have stopped her! We could have won that fight!" she says as Melody walks over to yuina and checked her all over "Are you hurt?" she asks as Melody also spots her partner samurott and uses her abilities to gently lift the pokemon over to them. She crouches down to the ground and looks at the Pokémon's injuries as she allows Yuina to respond.

For the time that Melody took to come down towards the ground, incredulous still at what had taken place, at what had stopped her, Yuina only watched... There was anger, confusion, and yet she still tried to show concern as if nothing that had taken place had happened at all. But Yuina burned as Melody took a hold of Daikenki in her power and brought him forward, looking him over.[break][break]
"Don't touch him, get away from him," Yuina spoke slowly, with all of the even fear and angry intention of protecting him... from her. Yuina dropped her seamitar, blood smearing from the tip of the blade to the grass as she moved towards Daikenki's figure, drawing his helmet, his large head into her lap. He was breathing... But only just as ice cracked over bloodied wounds gaping along his side.[break][break]
"You said you wouldn't...," she muttered after a quiet, solemn moment, a hand stroking Daikenki's still muzzle, but she refused to meet Melody's eye.[break]
"You said you wouldn't use your ability to command someone, to make them obey...," her eyes flicked to the bloodied grass.

She sucks on her teeth when she sees the pokemons injury. Yuina demands that she not touch the pokemon, she moves her hands onto her hips. [break][break]

"You realize we're allies right? And what are you talking about? I didn't use my ability on you." she doesn't realize she did it, she simply was cheering yuina on to stop them. It was simply a strong emotion. However uncertainty fills her voice as she waivers momentarily, long enough for Yuina to surely notice. "You gonna answer my question?" [break][break]

She however starts to hum a song, a slow one that brings peace to her pokemon as Yuina sees that his wounds start to close in on themselves. The process is slowy, allowing the two to chat more.

Still Melody looked on incredulously, as if she had done nothing wrong, as if she herself was the one in the wrong, the one that was confused about how things happened and what it all could have meant.[break][break]
"I heard you Melody, it wasn't just your voice, you were in my head. Your will took over mine," she seethed, turning up then to meet Melody's eyes. She was burning, in a white hot ire of having lost her own control, what little she had, always a puppet.[break][break]
"You told me to protect myself, you commanded that I protect myself. You forced something over me, something I couldn't control, and this," she pointed, sharp and fierce at the blood that stained the tip of her seamitar on the ground beside her.[break][break]
"I wasn't trying to do that Melody! I wasn't trying to hurt anyone! And then you were going to kill her and it would have been my fault because I stopped her from being able to defend herself! I'm not going to have someone's blood on my hands again because I put them in harms way!"

"No I- I didn't mean to." as melody started to piece together the timeline. " I didn't mean to.." [break][break]

She feels remorse, she hadn't admitted it outloud to anyone yet but when he emotions reached a certain threshold. Anything she says can become an order, the same had happen to robin coello during the fight in sootopolis. It had helped saved her life that time, and it had helped Yuina Higashi but it seemed the vagueness of the order and Melody's order lead it to an extreme. "I never wanted to force you to do anything you didn't want to to. I'm sorry, im still learning how to control it but it's hard. I was panicked." she apologizes [break][break]

"But you know what I was doing? My JOB yuina, this is a war! What did you think was going to happen with you coming here?!"
as Melody defends her stance "I take no joy in doing what needs to be done, but how many families are going to be separated and killed because those two were allowed to escape Yuina? What are you gonna tell the families?"[break][break]

"How do you think I feel knowing I have to end the lives of people I was sworn to protect to stop them from harming even more people?! I don't have a choice!"

Yuina could only stare and listen as Melody feigned lack of control, panic, that she never meant to and would never force her to do anything she didn't want to. So why would she have forced her to be responsible for the death of another person? Where was the dividing line?[break][break]
"What happened to you Melody," she asked after a still moment, she couldn't believe that Melody was trying to defend the chance to kill someone.[break][break]
"Just because this is war, doesn't mean that killing is the right answer? How could we call ourselves any better than them if we're trying to match blood for blood? Do you really think that that tips the scale in favor of one side? The more lives that are lost, it only makes both sides lighter," she returned, how was that the right way to go?[break][break]
"Just because you're an avatar now, you get to decide who lives and dies? You have the power to play judge, jury, and executioner? What happened to the Melody that tried to save the Megalopolans on that ship? The one that would fight for justice?"

She clenches a fist at Yuina, how naive the girl was. "excuse ME?!" she says as the girl turns around and pauses her song.

Her face is red, the air thrums with her emotions. "I was TRYING to save you! How would you have me answer to a mother grieving over the body of her slain child if that ROCKET kills someone else? Or worse what about the terrorism they commit on the public? How would you have me tell them I had the chance to stop them earlier and I chose not to?" she asks her.

She clenches her fist. "That's still me. Those were civilian megalopolans that had nothing to do with the leaders. These are rocket soldiers who came here with the intent to kill us if they had the chance."

She frowns as the emotion in the air slows down and Melody's expressions moves to one of sadness "I thought you knew me better." However, the sadness did not stem from yuina. That word.

Justice.

What would Cobalion think of her now? She had been avoiding him for so long but she still sensed him nearby, watching her carefully.

Pressure was mounting, ideals and hard truths were laid to bear, but as Melody went on about what it was she would have to do now in not being able to kill the rocket woman, Yuina burned still.[break][break]
"You can't save me Melody! And I never asked you to," Yuina bit back, cutting into Melody's words, her defense. It was all about everything else around her, everything that was making her do this. But she still had a choice? Melody still had choices that she could make, when Yuina didn't.[break][break]

Melody clenches her fist and continues to stifle her anger.

"Get off your god damn soap box." she spits out, her anger had gotten loose. All that time she had been suppressing it finally let loose.

"How the FUCK would you know?! Huh?! NO one here on this god damned forsaken planet understands me or what I've been through! The things that have happen to me! Not even Navy." she seethes as the trees around them suddenly came to a stand still, the leaves in the air hovering. The champion had started to lose control again.

"I NEVER told you to fucking kill her. I told you specifically to PROTECT yourse-." the air becomes distorted as the sounds in the air become warbled.

"Do you think this makes me HAPPY?! You think I believe this is ok?! NO I don't! but to tell me I have a CHOICE in the matter?! How DARE you even TRY to lecture me. I gave THEM a choice, we have the amnesty program, I provide them a chance to make themselves better with POKEMON HOME." as one tree starts to splinter down the middle.

How fortunate for her, that Melody still had secrets, things that she knew about herself and could keep locked away. How fortunate she was to know who she was and what she had been through and the things that had happened to her.[break][break]
"You make it sound like a curse, to know yourself, to understand yourself, and to know what's brought you here," Yuina leered. Melody had all of what Yuina could only pine for. Purpose, worth, a sense of self, and to know everything about who she was and what she was doing. And she was treating it all like some burden, because she was choosing to keep it all to herself.[break][break]
The air began to thicken, Melody's anger was reaching a crescendo as her powers began to take hold of her again... The first splinters of a tree starting to crack under her pressure showered to the grass below.[break][break]
"So what would you have me do Melody? What do you want," Yuina asked then, eyes glancing to the tree that threatened to shatter to pieces. Melody was loosing control, her anger fueling her power in earnest, and that was acceptable, because she was the perfect victim of circumstance. How could she do any wrong?[break][break]
