It hadn't been the best passing days for Gwendolyn since the meet up with Robin. She had spent a good majority of the time back in her workaholic tendencies again, offering to go down routes, patrols, any kind of mission to keep her mind from wandering. Since the break up slash separation from her best friend, her mood had been somewhat sullen. It was enough of a reason to start to take her Ranger duties a bit more seriously, as she would have to try and make it up to the League to which had given her so much since arriving here. A dreary shadow that clung to her wherever she went. Gishath had done his best to try and cheer her up, though the girl's insistence that nothing was wrong that had been the clear sign. Today, Gwen had heard reports of a masked individual who had been traveling along the routes near Petalburg, as if they were searching for something. It was her job to go find if the reports had any merit, though she wondered what the goal of that could even be. It was still suffering from that fire that had broke out a while back. The ranger made her way with her team in hand and began to search the perimeter for the person in question. About an hour and a half later, Gwen found her mark. [break][break]

"Hey there!" Gwen called out, waving over to the other masked person, aiming to try and seem non-threatening. It might have come as a shock to the other to really be greeted by a one-armed woman with a Garchomp behind her, sniffing at the grass. The last thing they wanted to do was to instigate a fight on Rocket territory. "You really shouldn't be out here alone. It could be dangerous." Her eyes snapped over to the arms of this individual. No Ranger armband or anything that gave away their allegiance. They could really be anybody, friend or foe. "What's your name?" [break][break]

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." Walking a shuckle, huh? Gwendolyn cast a suspicious eye at the both of them while trying to figure out their angle. Was this just some kid out here in the middle of nowhere for a reason? Normal people didn't willing go into a warzone for the thril of it. Not anybody who wanted to keep their head, anyway. Maybe it was a little bit too harsh to think of them as an enemy? It was just somebody likely lost or something. No need to stay on edge like this. The ranger lowered her defenses and approached closer.[break][break]

"Did you lose something?" Gwen asked, looking down at the grass that they had been digging through. "I can help you look for it. But you really oughtta- Whoa!" The Shuckle had suddenly terrastalized itself and launched out a STONE EDGE at her and Gishath. The dragon-type had jumped in front to tank most of the blast, but let out a roar of defiance at the attack. Hurt yet again by another person, Gwen felt her anger rising. A sudden frustration that every time she lowered herself for another, she was punished for it. Her fingers dug into the dirt beneath her while rising up with a renewed anger. [break][break]

"Every time I try to be nice about things, you guys ALWAYS prove me wrong!" She recovered in time, though flashing a look at the other person. "Fine, you win! Gishath, go!" Gwendolyn grunted, going over to look at Gishath. He was a strong dragon, and didn't seem too damaged from the attack. The dragon responded in kind, rushing at the shuckle with both fins raised as it swung at the smaller opponent with METAL CLAW. [break][break]

"Really?! You picked a pretty fucking poor time to mess with me! I'm really not in the mood for all of this!" Gishath let out an annoyed roar at the STICKY WEBS coating his fins and slowing him down. The dragon-type shook it off as best he could and continued to remain on the offensive while glaring down at the Shuckle across from him. Gwen was still fuming, stomping closer to try and help her Pokemon break the thick webbing but crashing to the floor as a sharp pain hit her ankle. Looking down, some of the previous Stone Edge had smashed into her foot, causing a medium amount of pain for pressure to be applied to it. "Oh, that's it. I'm tired of all of this now!" she hissed while Clover mentioned not wanting to hurt her, then took it back again. [break][break]

"Put me in the ground?" Gwendolyn repeated, astonished at the threat. She growled, as Gishath reared his head back and unleashed a wave of flames at the Shuckle with his DRAGON BREATH. Gwen, meanwhile, got onto her feet again and approached closer. "You wanna know what your problem is? How I know that you're bullshitting me? It's that false bravado. You just can't let anybody think you're not cut out for this life or aren't sure about yourself. And look where that's lead you. Right here with me." [break][break]

The Shuckle fainted from the sheer strength of the Garchomp's attacks. Gishath let out an intimidating roar at the sight of the felled defensive wall while Gwen looked back to Clover. "So the League are the ones who set fire to Petalburg? Or was that Rocket? Do you really want to nitpick atrocities when either side has blood on their hands?" Her question was met in full by the sight of a Zarude challenging Gishath directly. The situation just got even most hostile like this. [break][break]

"Wasn't expecting that." Gwen said while Gishath would be slammed with the Power Whip. "That's not happening. I'll do you one better: Call off the Zarude, find whatever it is you're searching for and get out of my Route." The attack had dealt quite the bit of damage, yet the dragon-type refused to go down without a fight. His arms shuffled free of the attack. With one arm top the sky, Gishath aimed a harsh DRAGON CLAW at the Zarude. [break][break]
