[attr="class","aurelie-lyrics"]Beauty and the blacksmith [attr="class","border"] At the handsome Rocket's teasing about not murdering anyone, Aurelie chuckled ruefully and shook her head. "I know, right?" she replied in the same bantering tone, pretending to click her tongue reprovingly at herself. "How can you get ahead in life, if you're not regularly ending someone else's?"
Despite her best efforts, though, the redhead shuddered at her own words. To her, the words were a joke, but to others in Rocket, they were a way of life. A truism, even. She found herself hoping fervently that her current companion didn't fall in the latter category.
She decided to try and find out. "What about you? Any, uh, notches on your belt? Or do you have another specialty within Rocket?"
Then, Caspian shared a little more about himself, and suddenly, the blood drained for Aurelie's face, as did her smile. The name "Argentate" rang in her ears as she stared at him in shock. Not many people referred to her younger brother by his full name, not since he'd been bullied relentlessly for it as a kid.
"I...I guess you probably know more about me than I thought," she stammered at last, unable to hide the faint tremor in her voice. "And yeah, I can tell you must've been to Anistar at some point, if you know 'Tate."
I bet he liked you, Aurelie thought, a ray of amusement lancing through her stunned daze as she regarded Caspian with a new eye. Either that or hated you, depending on how you reacted, I guess.
"If I had a Pokedollar for every time I heard people talk about how different we looked, I'd be a millionaire," she added, one corner of her mouth curving in a crooked smile. "I had half a dozen teachers who couldn't believe we were family and had the same last name and parents. They'd argue with me when I said he was my little brother."
Unable to stop herself, she asked curiously, "How long ago did you last talk to him? Or see him? Is he…all right?"
