[attr="class","spiral"]competition can be fierce. the smallest mistake between cutthroat competitors can lead to an easy upset. fernando is one of them, dead set on showing up everyone else not as a form of validation but in an attempt to rouse like minded individuals. those who cannot hope to match can despair all they want. they're hopeless from the start. it is a small blip in his taxing schedule, the constant full time job of council man, that allows him this chance.

someone else may try to incapacitate the pokemon through non-violent means but it is fernando's pokeball that looks to snatch the FIVE STAR pokemon right out from under him.

Missing the last Pokemon leaves a bit of a sting to her pride but Lenora doesn't let it get to her. She moves forward, until she comes across the skorupi. "Icy wind." The command is cool. Her aurorus obeys, fin like protusions flattening as the wind blasts from it, leaving a sheen of white over the red pokemon. "Sing."

Her swablu gets close, drifting around the stinger to let loose a lullaby. The skorupi's eyes grow heavy, body cold enough to leave it further struggling. Finally, it falls asleep.

Lenora hums and throws her pokeball.

Watching out for it's poisonous barbs, Morgan's Masquerain fluttered it's wings against the Pineco's hard shell. No matter how armored a Pokemon, it still needed to breathe, and upon avoiding it's posionous sting, the Masquerain's spores took affect, leaving the coniferous Pokemon lose control of its senses. Morgan proceeded to fling a Sports Ball in its general location.

The sheer incredulity of it all draws Alexei out and has him summon Kyouya—they’re on the lookout for something that would catch their eye.

Wait a second, isn’t that—

“Get it!” Alexei shouts, chasing after the Combee, pointing desperately at it. As soon as the Braviary uses Tailwind to rocket forward, the Combee lets out a shriek of terror and unleashes a Bug Buzz.

“Go, go, GO!” Alexei shouts, urging the Braviary on as the much-larger male avian sweeps in and grabs it in a Sky Drop attack.

He knows that the small Pokémon is going to hate him for this later, but there’s no time to lose, and off the Braviary goes, screeching as he grabs the Combee and flies sharply upwards before suddenly coming down in a powerful attack.

“Too much, but eh, let’s go!” Alexei adds, throwing a Sport Ball.

it reminds him of the eyes on a mask he has seen before in a museum somewhere. It's been awhile and he wonders if perhaps this pokemon was the inspiration.

Regardless he has some catching to to do. he nods and his cottonee covers the eyes in cotton before it filly emerges from behind the bush where it is hiding. The stun spore come next to keep it from going far and the poison powder is just to be on the safe side.

His job is throwing the pokeball before anyone else has the chance.

Approaching the clearing, Derek could make out the silhouette of a flying bug type pokemon fluttering about the area without a care in the world. Using the surrounding foliage to mask their presence, the trainer used a hand to point towards Blaziken and then the wild Masquerain before whispering a command...

The blaze kick would collide with the Masquerain from it's flank, leaving a burn upon the moth before it could turn to see what the ruckus was about. However, retaliating with bug buzz, while valiant, was not enough to deter Derek's pokemon from doing it again, knocking the Masquerain out of the air with a second blaze kick.

“Woo!” The trainer exclaims as he comes running out from the woodwork, lobbing a sports ball at the fainted Masquerain...

It's not valid, but I got a 2nd 100 roll going for me, so that's nice.

An ancient power courses through the forest, permeating through the very ground they stood on. Trees quake and pokemon flee as the ground began to split. Boulders and chunks of earth bigger than the Kabutops itself took to the air. Sparks fly as boulders knock against each other, spurring tiny flames to erupt near the Venomoth.

As time goes on the amount of bug pokemon left in Petalburg forest begins to thin. All the easy pickings have been plucked clean. People have to travel farther and farther in to find pokemon.

It'd be some time till Lucas would stumble upon another bug. When he does he wastes little time. Ancient power tears through and raises the ground. It propels the rubble towards Spewpa. They cast a shadow over it as they soar through the air.

Lucas Lane was pretty sure that if any of his friends saw what he was doing they'd report him for animal cruelty.
