Having moved to Mauville - after Sootopolis' flooding had ruined their old apartment - Makoto had become curious about New Mauville. A wide variety of pokemon lurked here - though what Makoto was hoping for the most, was to find themself something like another Rotom. Having more of those electrical ghosts would make a good addition to their toolset, really...

But there were a number of pokemon in the end that they'd take as a successful outing. It was just the question of whether they'd run into any, as they descended into New Mauville...

When Makoto had descended into New Mauville, the last thing that they expected was for their first encounter to be a shiny of all things - let alone a shiny of a pokemon they were actually fond of!

It was safe to say that the Mawile was a more than welcome sight, and Makoto would be more than happy to include it in their ever-growing menagerie. Perhaps Kiba would enjoy having another Mawile like himself around?

Digging through their belt, they'd pull out one of their pokeballs - giving it a toss in the Mawile's direction.
