[attr="class","spiral"]a venonat is just as immobile as the rest of the bugs they've encountered. until they face something agile or lithe, like the pyroar, dispatching the pokemon comes as natural as a reflex. fernando doesn't hesitate from scooping the fallen pokemon up, returning it to its new ball.

[attr="class","spiral"] all the bugs seem to have the same body shape. stubby little bodies with tiny arms and legs. that means easy pickings and the pyroar hunt them down like prey in the wild. with nothing but a slew of physical attacks the karrablast has no chance. a blast of fire put the bug to rest.

[attr="class","spiral"] finally they come across something that the pyroar cannot put down in a single stream of fire. the larvesta proves more durable than the rest of the bugs. its fire typing proves to increase its resistance but it's only by the slimmest of margins. the pokemon gives off a NOBLE ROAR before coming into a closer range to ram into it with a TAKE DOWN. the larvesta's own DOUBLE-EDGE cause both pokemon to crash into each other but the pyroar sinks its fangs into the bug with CRUNCH. it doesn't let go and both are sent tumbling into a brush, ending with the pyroar resurfacing with its prey limp in its mouth.

the last catch proves the hardest and then they're back to catching simplier pokemon. a vivillon is as fragile as every other base bug pokemon and it cannot stand up to a concentrated FLAMETHROWER. not without POWDER. fernando catch that one as well and he feels his knapsack feel a little heavier.

[attr="class","spiral"] the competition is coming to a close. he can feel the passage of time wear down on him and their festivities cannot last forever. fernando redoubles his efforts to make the most of the opportunity and sets his eyes on the largest insect in his vicinity. the yellow spider seems more menacing than the previous evolution he came across and fernando brings out another pokemon to combat this one. he opts for something that's not only fast but pack enough power to dispatch any bug pokemon he can think of. a blaziken comes out and the agile hoenn starter should feel right at home in petalburg forest.

the duo chain a variety of attacks to berate the enemy in a string of constant combinations. the spread of fire does little to bother either of them and the results end with the same as every other opponent. utter defeat.
