As Thomas walks by, he notices something catch his eye. A Foretress descends down from the trees with a Heavy Slam, right down towards Thomas. The Kalosian quickly rolls to the side to dodge the attack, allowing the insect to land with a violent thud. Thomas quickly sends out Kalameet the Hydreigon in response.

"Flamethrower!", the trainer calls out to his dragon.

The Hydreigon wastes no time in hosing down the Foretress with a jet of flames. The flames manage to all but cook the steely insect, who cries out in pain, before finally passing out. Thomas, being ready for the survival of the attack that wouldn't come, thanks to its ability not being Sturdy, threw a Sport Ball at the now unconscious Foretress, hoping to capture it before it could potentially explode.

Moments after the Forretress was confirmed captured, something would zip out towards Kalameet. A Mach Punch would smack into the Hydreigon. The dark dragon would glower at his assailant, a Ledian. In response, one of his heads would spray a Flamethrower onto the insect, who recoiled in pain, backing away from the attack as fast as his wings could allow him. Though he survived the attack, his body was still hurting from the flames.

Rather than attempting to continue the fight, the Ledian would attempt to fly away as fast as he could. Not wanting his foe to get away, Kalameet fired off a Dark Pulse at the back of the Ledian. Upon being hit, the Ledian would plummet to the ground violently. But before he could land, Thomas threw a Sport Ball at the insect, absorbing the creature into the capsule.

A Shelmet would emit a buzz, before firing it off as a sound wave towards the Hydreigon. The dark dragon would be hit from behind by the attack, letting out a cry of pain and irritation upon being subjected to the Bug Buzz. Following this, the Shelmet would attempt to Body Slam the Dragon, only to woefully miss her mark.

Glowering at the shelled insect angrily, Kalameet blasted him with a Flamethrower, causing it to flail and cry out in pain, before passing out. Before the damage could get any worse, Thomas threw a Sports Ball at the Shelmet.

Seeing her prey having been weakened by the Shelmet earlier, the Beedrill begins by laying down some Toxic Spikes across the area, in an attempt to deny any allies from coming to the Hydreigon's aid. From there, she lunges at the Hydreigon, attempting to strike it in the head with a Poison Jab. Thomas, seeing the Beedrill coming, quickly sends out Ripper the Scizor from his Pokeball. Upon landing, the Scizor crushes the Toxic Spikes underfoot, his steely body preventing them from penetrating his skin and introducing toxins. From there, he leaps in front of the Beedrill, causing the Stinger to deflect off of his body harmlessly.

With a grin, Ripper lets off a Bullet Punch at the Beedrill, striking the insect in the head. The Beedrill retaliates by jabbing the Scizor with Twineedle. The Scizor, who looks more annoyed than hurt, retaliates with another Bullet Punch, this time causing the Beedrill to fall to the ground with a harsh thud. Thomas chucks a Sports Ball at the fallen Beedrill. Meanwhile, Kalameet gives his old friend a thank you for covering him.

A Silver Wind would blow in through the area. The attack was coming towards the Hydreigon, prompting Ripper to step in to block off the attack, once again finding himself taking the hit for his comrade. The source of the attack, a Shedinja, floated into sight. Ripper and Kalameet stared down the creature. But before either could move in to attack, the Shedinja disappeared.

"Be careful, you two!", Thomas called out, having an idea of what the Shedinja was doing.

Indeed, the Shedinja reappeared behind the Scizor, slamming into it with Phantom Force. The Scizor allowed himself to be knocked down, while Kalameet fired off a Flamethrower at the insect. In response, the Shedinja quickly moved away from the attack with Shadow Sneak, causing the fire to scorch the grass instead. The Shedinja would emerge in the shadow of Ripper, attempting to deter the dragon from using Flamethrower.

"Dark Pulse!", called out Thomas.

The Hydreigon would fire off a Dark Pulse of energy at the shadow of the metallic insect, blasting the ghostly insect out of his friend's shadow, and onto the ground. Thomas quickly threw a sports ball at the Shedinja's immobile form.

Ripper would stagger back up to his feet, the Phantom Force clearly having hit him quite hard.

Thomas takes a moment to send out Colt the Clawitzer. "Colt, give each of these boys here a Heal Pulse, would ya?", Thomas asked the Clawitzer. The Clawitzer looked at the two of them, and seeing that Ripper looked to be in worse shape than Kalameet, fired off a Heal Pulse at the armored insect first. Ripper felt his injuries mending, his energy returning.

But before Kalameet could get his turn, a steely fist struck him. A Scizor, smaller than Ripper, lunged at him with a Bullet Punch. Though the dragon grimaced in pain, he would notice that the technique of the Scizor in question wasn't as refined as Ripper's technique. Following this, the Scizor would open his pincer, and slash at the Hydreigon with Night Slash. The wound inflicted was shallow, and caused the dark dragon to glare at his foe.

With a simple Flamethrower, the Scizor would begin to flail and cry out in pain, before dropping to the ground with a lighter thud than one would expect of a Scizor. His body was heating and glowing from the Flamethrower he was subjected to. Ripper, who saw the battle, couldn't help but wince at what he saw. Despite his own conditioning and training, Fire was still one of those things that he knew to steer clear of.

Thomas, seeing that the Scizor on the ground was still breathing, if barely, tossed a Sports Ball at the fallen Pokemon. Meanwhile, Colt fired off a Heal Pulse at Kalameet, mending his wounds as well.
