Ruby had no idea what it was going to be like, but this surely wasn't what she had expected. The pouring rain slamming into her body, the lightning and thunder cracking around her. The cold air and winds blowing at her body, threatening to toss them off the back of the dragon and subject to the wild winds of nature's wrath. And yet... There was a small part of her that was just enjoying the thrill of it. Her hands clenched incredibly tightly, refusing to let go, her eyes squeezed shut as hard as she could, but despite that, she had a nervous smile on her face.

When Gabe was ordered to fly faster, Ruby could practically feel it. The thin plastic covering was the only thing keeping her from being entirely soaked, but it didn't stop everything. Ruby was still wearing a swimsuit, high in the sky, and flying through a freezing cold storm. Her entire body felt like hello, despite clenching her hands as tightly as she could, lest she dare fall.

And yet, eventually, the rain seemed to lighten up some. It wasn't much, but as they continued to fly it lightened up more and more before suddenly they left the cloud entirely behind. The storm cloud behind them, and nothing but clear skies ahead. Ruby was hesitant to even open her eyes, shivering from the cold and shuddering from both the nerves and the excitement. Eventually, however, Ruby managed to pull back just a bit, a smile on her face.

"... That was just about the coolest thing I've ever done." Ruby spoke in a soft voice, almost as if she was just talking to herself. "That... That was like-" Her words failed her, only to suddenly giggle over and over again as she leaned back against Alexei and patted Gabe's back in appreciation. Just because he couldn't speak didn't mean he wouldn't enjoy the praise. "You did good Gabe, you kept me nice and safe. Thank you."

With that said, Fortree was easy flying from here. Ruby just sat back and sighed, allowing the wind to blow down the hood of the rain jacket and let it flow through her hair. She might not be born for the skies, but she could certainly understand why some people were.

It was a good choice to let Gabriel fly through the storm—he was pretty certain if they had stayed on separate flying Pokémon the trip would have ended in disaster.[break][break]

Bit of a risky move right there, Alexei. At least the Salamence went and got the job done![break][break]

As the weather thinned out, the clouds started to blow away—and soon enough they were out in the beautiful open. Now if the wind wasn’t so cold, he wouldn’t have minded being blown dry up here.[break][break]

But it was so freaking cold.[break][break]

Truth be told they’d just flown through a storm, what did he expect?[break][break]

The Salamence let out a rumble of pride, before banking around in a wide arc as the familiar sight of Fortree drew close. They were flying over familiar territory now, and woe whoever was going to get soaked as they flew by—Alexei was busy wringing out his jacket and not giving a care whatsoever to what was zipping by beneath them![break][break]

“So close… I could go for a warm shower!” he breathed as he continued to wring his jacket dry. While the upper half of his body was reasonably dry, the bottom half was a loss for words, soaking wet beyond imagination. He was sure he had to air dry his sneakers later…
