[attr="class","spiral"] Busy season means less adventures into the wild and it shows with how infrequent Fernando has been in pursuing additional Pokemon. They may roll into his lap on occasion but none have been anything he's caught fresh in the field. Finding a spare moment in the fall out of New Year's, he takes a leisurely stroll through the safari zone to clear his thoughts and refocus on the only hobby that keeps him same.

Dominance.

[attr="class","spiral"] There's no more fitting of a start than to run into a Meowstic. Having had one of his own until recently, Fernando vividly recalls the Pokemon's strengths and weaknesses before picking one of his own. Naturally, he opts for something dark to avoid having to navigate around its psychic powers and his Weavile is more than willing to comply.

"Battle routine set."

Taking initiative, the Pokemon lets out a shrill SCREECH before pouncing forward, closing the distance between both Pokemon as it comes in close for a physical attack.

"Execute."

An without missing a beat, the Weavile brings its razor sharp talons across the Meowstics face, eager to paint it red along the mismatch of blue and white.

Fernando only watches for a moment before tossing his own pokeball to suck up the loser. After the initial stick lands, the battle is decided. Meowstic cannot escape the melee superiority that Weavile holds and the following blows never end.

[attr="class","spiral"] Among his many Pokemon, there are some that Fernando favors more than others. Exposure brings familiarity and with it breeds trust. The minor quirks each Pokemon has can be overlooked, such as the Weavile's mischievous nature. So when it leaps at the next Pokemon that comes across their path, Fernando doesn't bat an eye despite his lack of instructions.

Considering the Pokemon in question, Fernando expects Weavile to end it quickly. Just as fast as the ICE SHARDS come out, the Budew is reduced to battered target practice. Fernando catches it too, cleaning up the area, oblivious to the Pokemon's odd coloration.

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando leans down to pick up the Pokeball from his last capture. He can hear another Pokemon not too far off but ignores it when he can make out it silhouette. He has no need for something that can fly with such a small size. Well, maybe he does, but he can't be bothered to pursue it from this distance. Instead, he opts for the path less traveled by.

[attr="class","spiral"] And it takes him right back to the beginning. Another Mewostic comes across his path but this time it proves to be a different variant. Its moves and appearance may change but the battle outcome remains the same. Still left abundant energy, a quick PUNISHMENT brings the Weavile close and ready to intercept the Pokemon in Fernando's stead.

At least until the Meowstic pivots and slaps the Weavile with a FAKE OUT, stunning it outright. Fernando snickers in return, a forced reaction, but anything to taunt his Pokemon to step it up. The following SLASH and ICE SHARD lash out in a vicious fashion, spurred by the Pokemon 's fragile ego and deep seated embarrassment.

Fernando catches this one too, not for his own desire, but to stop his Pokemon from going too far.

[attr="class","spiral"] Finally! He has his eyes on the prize. Rumor had it that the elusive Eevee could now be found in the safari zone. While Fernando doesn't fancy what he deems as nothing more than a pet Pokemon popular due to grooming, he realizes its importance and value in a trainer-centric economy.

"Don't bruise that one too much. We need it in good shape."

Fernando warns his Pokemon once before allowing the Weavile to come in close. A wild SCREECH prior to getting into striking distance unsettles the Eevee enough to lower its defense well beyond parrying anything the Weavile can dish out. PUNISHMENT is swift and end up with indentured servitude to whoever's willing to pay the right price.
