oh wow, what a cute little creature! well, if it wasn't currently swooping violently at her hair...

the woman startles and books it in the opposite direction, one hand protecting her messy ponytail while the other curls closer around the sleeping eevee in her arms. bats are cute and all but god, please no more pokemon near her hair. it's already messy enough without a pokemon living in it thank you very much!!!

illeana continues on, hopefully running into more eevees than bats or fashionable cats or support mains. look for bushy tails, nothing else. it's simple and yet, she's failing miserably.

a brief glimpse of a white tipped tail is enough to send the woman hustling through bushes, effectively waking the previously sleeping eevee in her arms as she moves. she coos, with ears wiggling to attention and illeana glances down to offer her a sheepish smile. the woman is a little upset that she managed to wake the poor baby but... desperate times call for her to haul ass.

they manage to find another eevee after a few moments of searching. it's a relief, really, that she had managed to find one. the last thing she needs is to worry about seeing eevees that aren't really there. has her desperation for the little brown creatures gone too far?

gingerly placing her eevee on the ground, the newly found eevee is quick to engage. together, the two little foxes sniff each other before diving into a game of tail chasing. illeana is content to just sit and watch for now, having earned a short break after all that running. boy, it probably wasn't the best idea to run when she's already pretty out of shape. ugh, her legs hurt...

an excited squeal captures her attention, then, and she glances up to see the new eevee bouncing over with her eevee in tow. together, the duo bounce onto her lap with the cute goal of snuggling. "you don't want to play anymore?" she murmurs, moving her hands to pet both of their heads at once. "you two are adorable!" her praise is met with more squeals and coos, the foxes pressing closer into her chest. ugh, her heart just wants to burst with how precious this is!

"we could have even more snuggle time if you come with us," she coos to the newly found eevee, glancing toward her eevee for backup. in response, her little fox coos with a nod of her head before moving to paw at the shoulder of the other eevee. "see? she wants more snuggles too!"

if the eevee stays with them, illeana will be one step closer to her dream of eevees running around everywhere. a gang of eevees, all excited for snuggles and playtime. god, it's such a lovely thought!

another cute little apple thing?

it's so adorable... she has to force herself to walk past it, to not pay the little dear any mind. she's after eevees, not apples. ugh, but it's so cute! no, no illie. stay on task, stay focused.

the woman pouts as she passes the applin, two eevees bouncing after her with bright eyes and bushy tails. they coo at the applin as they pass, tails wagging with excitement. they know, however, that the dark haired woman isn't stopping and so they follow, curious eyes roaming the safari while the woman searches. she'll find them another eevee to play with, another friend in their growing eevee gang, even if it kills her. it won't... right? probably not.

in her desperate endeavor for more eevees, the woman doesn't notice the small form of an icy caterpillar until one of the eevees at her side yips. the small cry brings her attention toward the ground where the snom is slowly crawling. oh god! she flails slightly, stumbling back and away from the caterpillar in a hurry. she had almost stepped on it oh god that would have been awful.

and so, with hesitant steps, she shuffles around the little creature in order to continue on her hunt for more eevees. the caterpillar pays them no mind, instead shuffling off into a nearby bush to happily munch some leaves, un-squished and excited to live its best life for another day.

a familiar cry filters through the clearing and with a sudden pep in her step, illeana shuffles toward the source of the noise. there, she finds another eevee, the last one of the day.

except... this one is different than the rest.

it's a different color, unique in its own right and if she didn't know any better, she'd simply think it was nothing more than a mirage. except, it's here right in front of her and she's definitely close to crying by now. after all that hunting, she finally managed to find the last one that she wanted and it's perfect! it's everything she's ever wanted and she isn't ashamed that a stray tear leaks out of the corner of her left eye as she shuffles closer.

"hello," she coos, reaching out a hand for the eevee to sniff. "you're so cute! i love your coloring, too. it's very unique, sets you apart from the rest~" the eevee coos at her, pressing a slightly damp nose to her open palm before moving its face to comfortably rest in her hand. her two eevees bounce over in response, tails wagging with the notion that play time is about to happen. how they have so much energy still is beyond her and so, she simply sits and lets the eevees run rampant around her.

at least half an hour rolls by before the trio of eevees are now tuckered out, each one finding a spot to curl up and rest on her lap. it's a miracle that all three manage to fit on her thighs but... they look awfully cute all snuggled up in a cuddle puddle. she'd be the worst person ever to move them and so, she simply murmurs to them as they begin to yawn. "you know," she begins. "we could have playtime like this all the time if you wanted to join us! i have a few other friends that i think you'd be interested in meeting, too." images of lapis and alium rise to the front of her mind and she smiles fondly. not too long ago, they were young eevees like these three, eager to play and take on the world. now they're older, grown and evolved into espeon and umbreon respectively.

with a soft sigh, she leans back and glances up at the sky, comforted in the fact that each of the three eevees in her lap were definitely snoring lightly by now. nevertheless, she continues to talk to them with a bright smile on her face. "i think the four of us are gonna have a lot of fun together. i can't wait!" well, hopefully, anyway. that really depends on if this unique little eevee decides to join their group... she'll have to get an answer once the little baby wakes up from this short nap. either that, or she'll die here because no way is she going to wake them up now.
