A short visit to the person at the front desk restocks his supply of safari balls and he returns to the artificial wilderness. [attr="class","spiral"] But this one is different. Fernando actually stops in his tracks. He pauses for a moment, picking his Pokemon, and allowing his Duraludon to take the stage. He's not well acquainted with the Pokemon and there's no better chance to try it out.

"The opposing Pokemon. Handle it."

Having little experience, Fernando does not bother with a standardized battle routine. The Pokemon doesn't know better and will rely on its own abilities, no different than now. He watches the FLASH CANNON nail the Pokemon across the heat and follow up with a LASER FOCUSED HYPER BEAM.

The Eevee never had a chance.

[attr="class","spiral"]Neither does the Meowstic. The different pastels of its fur mean little to the shining behemoth. Its lumbering gait causes the ground to tremble and Fernando switches sides.

"Go in close. Man handle it. Don't let it slip by."

A CHARGE BEAM lands cleanly against the Pokemon's face. The smooth metal reflects the light of the beam but the electricity seeps deep into the dragon's core. It doesn't prove effective but the attack lands its mark. PSYSHOCK comes after once the Pokemon gets too close but that doesn't put a stop to it either.

Once the Duraludon is within striking distance a BREAKING SWIPE and ROCK SMASH leave the Pokemon broken and battered. It finds relief in the recess of Fernando's Pokeball. He recalls his own soon after.

That's enough punishment for one day. There are other Pokemon to test.

[attr="class","spiral"] Not unlike any other adventure into the Safari, Fernando finds the opportunity to test run some of his less familiar Pokemon. This one proves the most unorthodox, having received it from a trade by someone looking to get rid of the ugly beast. What was peculiar about the beast was its lack of identification. Unable to reference it as any known species of Pokemon, Fernando remains eluded until HNN reports about several other beasts participating in the Slateport attack.

"..."

With little regard for the Pokemon itself, Fernando locks in his modified Silph Scope over the bridge of his nose. While he doesn't expect the best of results, it'll allow him to hone his AI while identifying the Pokemon's attack patterns.

The beast proves simple. Nothing about it radiates technique and it ends up handling the Snom by TACKLING it into submission. That'll work on a small insect Pokemon but what about something more its size?

Fernando catches the wild Pokemon on a whim.

[attr="class","spiral"] And the next one is an apple. Another Pokemon that proves near immobile and easy prey for the rowdy canine. If it wasn't for the helmet, the Pokemon would've had a nice snack. Literally. However, the makeshift limiter prevents it from doing this so the Pokemon refers back to tackling the fruit until it proves bruised and browned.

Strangely enough, the Type Null shows more stamina than first thought. Fernando notes this and puts away his scope after confirming another successful capture.
