another pokemon, "gallade, get it!" another battle ensued. the kadabra was met with defeat at the hands of his gallade. with a pokeball he'd capture it. "and that's another one in the bag!" dawn uttered jovially. turning to lucas, he'd respond, "haha, well, i was a coordinator before becoming her gym trainer. the only reason i took that job was because i wanna get into politics!" and in order to get to where he needed to go, he had to understand what it meant to serve hoenn. what better way to learn then by starting off as a gym trainer! "someday i'll earn my seat on the council, just like mr. FERNANDO SILPH!"

"you just almost called me 'retarded' didn't you?" it was normal though. most scientists did tend to have an rudimentary way of speaking toward others. "i plan to go about just as councilwoman Olivia Abbiati did herself." it wasn't an unusual way, and many regions had different requirements. not everyone was the same. "many people who wish to run for council start off by building trust and and sufficient ties within the communities they live in." Olivia Abbiati had done just that. she came from a name, she earned the love of her people in slateport. "by becoming a gym trainer i chose to start at the very lowest because, so far, it's help me interact with many people of mauville. cait's taught me a lot and if i can become a gym leader someday, that will definitely boost my chances of gaining the support i'll need."

in the end all of this was just make believe. a cover story for his true motive as to why he became cait's 'gym trainer', "anyway, i hope you'll support me in the future!"

Take care of it," he says before turning his attention back to Cadis. "Do you think I'm someone that relishes in belittling others? That just because of what, my education I'm better than those around me?" He interjects before the gym trainer's long winded plan. "Is that how little you think of me?"

"i don't know, yes? i heard you were a bit 'eccentric' even though you're the scientist discovered mega evolution. cait never really told me about your personality, can you blame me for assuming?" rumor spread throughout league that he didn't look both ways before crossing the street. plus, he thought he man had brain damage so he assumed his vocabulary had been reduced to that of an eighteen year old priam conrad. "in all honesty i kinda just assumed you were an egotistical maniac because you're a scientist! plus..." he'd wipe his hand over his mouth to muffle his words so that professor lane wouldn't hear what he said.

"a-anyway, oh, look! another pokemon!" he'd take out a pokeball and toss it toward the meowth that was crossing the road. without warning it was caught by surprise and ensnared by the pokeball. "that's another pokemon for me, h-hehe!"

"are you kiddin' m--" a click of the tongue showed his annoyance, "dangit, alright, we'll do this the hard way!" ordering his gallade to use close combat. the gallade would beat up the meowth and allow for dawn to capture it once more.

"i don't know," turning to face lucas, "eccentric is just another way to say you're weird, hey don't get snippy at me!" dawn shouted with annoyance, "i just heard stuff from others. geez, cait didn't tell me you were so naggy. i liked the you i had in my head better..." cadis pouted, "also i heard you got hit by a car because you didn't look both ways before crossing the street and suffered some sort of brain damage." clearly that wasn't the case.
