noah struggles to open the interface under duress. as he continues to flee, noah is struck with the embarrassing realization that he is fleeing from a horde of the what is supposed to be the weakest dragon.

not all things are better in virtual reality. finally, he accepts the party invite after missing the button several times.

"i'm in— i got this!" noah brakes, swinging his sword forth. his autos connect, a goomy or two exploding into chunks of purplish jello.

as he casts DRAGON DARTS, a goomy slams into his body. it interrupts his casting as he stumbles on to a knee.

raising his sword and arms above his head, noah activates his WIDE GUARD. the goomys strike with a tinny clamor upon the materialized barrier.

"holy shit! i'm doing something!" the shield begins to redden, indicating how close it is to bursting.

kyle skids on the ground as he puts on the brakes. his body smoothly transitions to a proper archer's stance, aiming his arrow at the next undamaged goomy near noah.

"just kill stuff for now. we can worry about actual mechanics later. brute forcing our way through these with our default stats seems good enough."

he lets go of his arrows in repeated succession, hitting his target one after the other with a nuzzle enchanted arrow first, before a second regular attack finishes them off.

this is just the start of their grind.
