He hadn't expected this new VMMORPG with Blades & Bulwark to be so fucking cool? Logging in, his avatar materialized in the newbie town with an array of wobbuffet training dummies off to the side. A glance at his username, Shink, and he was already fiddling with his SYSTEM PREFERENCES meddling the options to how he wanted it with display and chat options. " This is so cool. " his eyes were practically beaming from excitement. [break][break]
Quickly, Shink stepped a little bit closer to the training grounds and he gripped tightly onto the knifes he had picked for his ROGUE class. Lifting off the balls of his toes, he lunged forward activating the NIGHT SLASH to slash through the dummy taking a significant amount of health off of it before it automatically recovered.

He tried adding some of the names of others in the League but it didn't seem to work on his friends list. " Must still be a bug they're working through. " A lightheaded thought to a deviant fact, that they gave poor Kiran the wrong information. Regardless, he flipped the blades in his hand once again and used X-CISSOR next, slashing into the dummy. But boy, it did feel good to use his own hands to do this immense damage, even if it was all virtual.

He didn't need a tutorial.[break][break]

Honestly, the controllers fit into his grip like daggers themselves, and his real-life training in close-quarters combat lent well to this sort of thing. The interface could be a little jarring, but he adjusts it to be as minimalist as possible in order to best lose himself in the reality part of virtual reality.[break][break]

He hops into the tutorial zone with the hopes of netting a few freebies aimed at new players. Video games tended to hand out boons like candy to idiot players in order to get them hooked, right?[break][break]

The air shimmers and takes his shape as he spawns in next to another rogue character.[break][break]

He offers a nod by way of greeting, then brutally attacks the nearest dummy with both daggers, the toxins from twineedle leaving tracks of sticky-looking ooze along the fake Wobbuffet's wounds.[break][break]

"First time?" he asks, not looking at the other.

He needed a test run.

VRMMORPG is quite new to Valerio, all the virtual simulation realness, the sensation that roused the man's interests. It was a long time ago when videoe games were just played behind the screen; now, they're actually living it. But when it comes to actual battling, the 38 year old rocket grunt could boast his two decades of experience. All the fighting that required blades and knives, he learned in all those years of serving Team Rocket.

Nevertheless, he probably needed a test run, anyway.

Valerio logged in and arrived at the city square, his avatar, seemingly a younger version of himself with a lot of creative liberties considered, hovered into the startup town in the kingdom of Aurora. New players sprung every second, and the main square was filled with creatures barely recognizable as humans.

The man approached the wobbuffet dummies, all of which were busy being hacked and slashed by other players. There, he spotted two rogues who continues to mutilate mannequins. He arrived the scene casually laying his muscular arms into the two men before he spoke.

"You know, big boys should play with bigger swords. Come on, I'll show you."

Valerio get off and stanced to throw a DRAGON RUSH, his speed attack crashing into the now-severed wobbuffet dummy whose HP easily plummeted to the orange bar.

How was it that he had been within this new game for a matter of minutes and Shink already felt like he was so far behind? To watch the first man materialize behind him, daggers out and a purple ooze dripping from his attack made him look so freaking cool. It only heightened by the second man who taunted the rogues, his large two-handed weapon was quite impressive and only had his DRAGON RUSH move obliterate half of the target dummy's health in a matter of a second. [break][break]
" Jeeze. " Shink's eyes widened at both of them, clearly they were a lot cooler and both stronger than he could even imagine. " Let a newbie breathe, will ya? " The rogue teased, knives being placed back into his sheaths as he looked between the both of them, curious if they'd be interested in being friends.

" I'm not sure if the dungeons opened yet but it might be worth adding each other as friends on here? Never know when you might need a hand to bail you out of a precarious situation. " Shink's goofy smile shined through, opening his friend's list in anticipation, hoping the other two would accept his request to be buddies.

"Smaller weapons are easier to conceal," Gavin drawls, his avatar leaning against a wall as Gavin presses a button. "Attitude like that, someone might think you're overcompensating."[break][break]

Flipping one of his daggers around in his hand, Gavin throws it at a dummy.[break][break]

Parting Shot activates, debuffing the target but also allowing him to perform a graceful leap to the other side of the training field. He presses a button and recalls the dagger to his hand.[break][break]

"They're open," he informs Kiran, swiping to accept the friend request. "I'm down to run some dungeons after this. I just wanted the easy loot from the tutorial."

"And someone might think you're timid. My, my. It's just a game, you should just be enjoying it." Valerio prattled, seemingly unfazed by the man's comment. manofsteal. That was the name the player gave his character in the B&B world. And why would you name someone like that? If he actually know who this guy is, he might say he's certainly speaking for himself.

Overconfidence and over-patience. If Valerio were to own one of these traits, he surely needed the other one too. Otherwise he wouldn't be making any friends in real life. That's how he took care of his sons.

Valerio just nodded at the other rogue before giving him his username. As soon as he clicked on his controller, the digital characters forming daddygamer13 in the virtual air. "That doesn't sound so bad. Where do you lads want to go to?"

That seemed easy enough, adding two new buddies onto his friend list felt nice to know he had people that could field the millions of questions he was already expecting. Shink's eyes blinked a few times at the daddygamer13 gamer tag before blinking a few times, deciding not to yuck this man's yum. He was also fairly certain that if he made a rude remark, he'd be pk'd as soon as he stepped into a red zone. " No need to fight lads, i'm sure you're both well endowed and courageous." [break][break]
" Sounds good, both are sent. " He toggled through some of his other skills, placing it on his userface.

" There are a couple of other missions we could do. If you wanna destroy these training dummies to finish our tutorial mission." He did his portion, a hazy lavender aura radiating from his hand as shink pushed against the training dummy and caused it to explode. one dummy down, two to go.

A quick scroll through the emote wheel finds the appropriate option: his in-game avatar smirks, twirling his daggers.[break][break]

Really, this is the most fun he's had in a while. It wasn't often that he found time for video games these days but his sister had sent him a code for this one with an insistence that they should play together some time.[break][break]

The username raises eyebrows in reality, but his avatar's expression remains neutral as Gavin swipes to accept.[break][break]

When prompted to take down the tutorial dummies, Gavin turns his attention to the one he'd poisoned earlier. The status effect had been slowly ticking down its health. A dark, sickly purple aura surrounds his avatar's hand as he lifts it, then closes his fingers.[break][break]

Venoshock takes effect, doubled in power and destroying the dummy from within.

It's not as if Valerio was deliberately ignoring shink, but the other guy had so much personality he could honestly say he's slightly crushing on him. Maybe that's why he's bugging him?

When the friend request appeared on midair, the warrior immediately clicked on the ACCEPT button, unaware of the momentary hesitation from the other rogue.

Valerio gave manofsteal a smirk, his rambling was a pleasure in the older man's ears. "Well son, the sweating of the small stuff gave it away."

He joined in destroying the wobbuffet dummies, another strike of DRAGON RUSH finishing the already worn down figure.

"Nice job!" He'd say to the other rogue just as it pounced and bursted on his dummy. Valerio raised his hand and offered him a high five.
