it's only natural for someone like kyle, who has an electric-type move as his main damage skill, to grind at the water-type area. watery areas remind him so much of hoenn that he doesn't frequent the place.

he walks in the open area, not fearing for his virtual life like he does on the pvp areas. with his arrow on the ready, he looks for any unfortunate mob that comes to his field of vision.

if this was real life, he'd catch this duck cause he'd appreciate a water-type that appreciates land as much as it likes the water, but this was vidya games, so this pokemon needs to die.

it approaches kyle, but a nuzzle arrow coupled with a couple of auto attacks get it to drop before it can even reach him. the ranger class is one of the best classes to play as when going solo, and kyle is used to the mechanics of kiting.

as it dies, kyle collects his loot.

he sees a marill that spawns nearby. kyle takes a look around him, trying to look at his options. there were others far away, but the marill is currently the nearest one that is within his range, making it an easier target.

it's weaker than the golduck and will probably yield less loot than the other wild pokemon, but he supposed it doesn't matter since he's going to kill everything he encounters. kyle attacks it with a bolt beak, the arrow flying across the beach and piercing through the marill.

the attack hits, fries the marill, and then dies.

surprisingly enough, kyle finds the gyarados a much better encounter than the marill. not only is it a bigger target, it also gets punished by his electric-type attacks harder.

he readies his aim, channels the bolt beak into his attack, and lets go of the bowstring.

the arrow hits the gyarados as electricity electrocutes it so bad it doesn't even finish its damaged animation before its health dropped to zero. it dies, to no one's surprise, but kyle gets loot for his sacrifice.
