Steam rises off the bath and obscures the room in a warm haze. While he ordinarily possesses no reason to be in Ignis beyond quests, most of which he was ignoring, the Knight's Bath promised a more relaxing way to recharge stats than a campfire.[break][break]

He's continuously surprised by the realism they've managed to achieve within the game. Shedding his armour, he swears he can feel the steam hit his skin. As his avatar resembles him, this isn't unlike stripping down in public, but he doesn't care. Besides, he's pretty sure there's no one else at this particular hot spring, anyway.[break][break]

His character slips into the water and closes his eyes.[break][break]

Gavin, on the other hand, takes this opportunity for a smoke break. He might be able to lose himself in the virtual world, but his real-world cravings could not be ignored.

Emma had been hoping to get here first, or last, or at the very least: alone. The last time she had visited the baths, everyone(including Marcel) had laughed at her for walking into the waters fully-clothed. [break][break]

Even now she had done so, she had almost certainly forgotten how to do it despite Marcel's careful instructions as to how. Technology wasn't her strong suit when it came to her grasp of this game. [break][break]

Unfortunately for her, she wasn't alone. She walked up, fully intent on benefiting from the buffing waters of the Knight's Bath, only to discover that a young man - someone she recognized immediately - taking a bath ahead of her. But he wasn't moving and an 'AFK' symbol hung over his head.[break][break]

Gods, it would be so easy to kill him right here and now if this wasn't a save place. Emma sighs, battling the urge to leave and her ego telling her to not to worry about the fact she couldn't take her clothes off. It wasn't like it mattered anyway - she got the buffs regardless.

Leaning back in the chair he'd occupied while his avatar was at rest, Gavin's eyes are closed when the cyborg first enters the Baths. Smoke streams from his nostrils in a drawn-out exhale, and he reminds himself for the umpteenth time that he should really think about quitting. He takes another drag.[break][break]

When he opens his eyes, he notes the other figure and leans forward in his chair, the motion prompting the game to recognize his 'return' and remove the symbol above his head.[break][break]

"You getting in?" His voice rasps over the mic, and he leans away to clear his throat. "Or are you just going to stand there admiring the view? I'm gorgeous, I know."[break][break]

Though his tone drips sarcasm, there's a trace of amusement as well. He's in a good mood.

Ugh. men.[break][break]

Emma's scowl is hidden in shadow as she lingers just long enough to hear the young man comment on her hovering with a teasing tone. She can almost taste the smoke of his cigarette from across the mic, and it leaves a bitter taste in her mouth.[break][break]

She had dabbled in it in her youth - but she preferred to remain without a distinguishable smell. Smoke lingered and soaked into one's clothes and it was nearly unshakable. Impossible to miss.[break][break]

For a while the woman remains silent, but honestly it's not unrealistic for her. Emma had always been someone of few words.[break][break]

But she manages to make it seem as though she were lost in her menus when muscle memory takes over and she recalls how to remove her avatars clothing in order to better 'fit in' with the aesthetic of the baths. What a stupid concept. [break][break]

Her legs carry her into the water and she sinks on the far side of the bath, avoiding the young man.[break][break]

"I'd rather stare at a blank wall."

Though his avatar claps a hand to his chest in time with Gavin's movements, the game cannot capture his brilliance of expression.

True to the stranger's words, they settle as far from him as physically possible. In spite of his dramatics, this doesn't bother Gavin in the least.

"If you're so repulsed, you could always stick to campfires." They're not nearly as good for regeneration, and he knows it; there's a smirk in his tone even if his avatar looks completely placid. "If not, I'm afraid you're stuck with the view."

Emma actually exhales a noise that could have been a short chuckle. Her avatar leans back against the edge of the bath and her eyes close slowly, purposefully.[break][break]

She feels him stir the water with his reaction, but she barely responds to his voice of reason - she isn't here to make friends but she isn't here to make a fool of herself either. To leave now would show weakness. [break][break]

"Mmm.. or I could just close my eyes and pretend you don't exist."[break][break]

The cyborg woman-in-a-man's-body lazily opens one eye to gaze lazily upon the other man. Her lips curl in a sneer or smirk, something probably meaning cruelty or callousness rather than genuine civility.
