The cold wind from Nixtorm slowed her movements. She could feel the metal of her cyborg husk stiffening as ice built up in the cracks. It was tedious and annoying, but she was here to find the Kingdom's boss monster, or whatever was closest. Clearly, there were bosses, mini-bosses, and big bosses like Zapdos. [break][break]

Regardless, she shuffles her way through the snow, her shoulders wrapped by a fur cloak. It's big and bulky but it does the trick. Some part of it manages to cover her nose and mouth from the blasts of icy wind that continue to force her back. [break][break]

He, too, has dressed for the weather, but the bulky winter gear mars his nimble rogue aesthetic. It's a necessary annoyance. Her troubles seem much worse; he swears her can hear her metal joints creak in the ice.[break][break]

"We're getting close," he says, sending a request. "Surprised there's not more competition. Not sure whether to be relieved or worried."

Hopefully she's not competition; he doesn't sheathe his weapons, just in case. His Fisherman's Daggers have frosted over, their hilts cold even through the gloves protecting his hands.

Emma stiffens instinctively when she hears the crunch of footsteps interrupt her thoughts. Had he stepped where she had, or stepped in tandem with herself, she might have missed him entirely. Damn this wind.[break][break]

But the party request doesn't go missed and she hesitates because she is stubborn and proud. She had only partied up with one person, and he was busy. [break][break]

The stranger speaks and she turns around to face him, expression placid as she recognizes him. The cocky rogue from the baths. Wonderful.[break][break]

"You shouldn't concern yourself with the decisions of lesser beings."[break][break]

Despite her flat response, the woman accepts the party invite and turns around to continue on her way. Hopefully they would find their target soon.

In truth, that's what endears Gavin to her. She was blunt and brutal in her honesty.[break][break]

The hunt for the boss continues through bitter winds. He travels mostly in silence, figuring she'd appreciate it.[break][break]

When he next speaks, it's accompanied by a gesture. "Up ahead."[break][break]

Something was silhouetted against the horizon, but it was impossible to glean its identity from a distance. Perhaps as they grew closer...
