Emma sneezes, wiping her nose discreetly before moving on. The mysterious influx of sand had disappeared and she was ready to move on. [break][break]

That is, until she sees the fluffy tail of another Rockruff dart past her peripheral. This one, a female, is almost identical in size and pizazz as the last one she had caught and she immediately sees the resemblance: they're siblings. [break][break]

It seems fitting, then, to initiate a capture of the second puppy Pokemon. With a subtle nudge of her chin, Emma sends Hades in pursuit of the puppy. The female's temperament appears to be softer and timider, and Emma captures the pup without issue.[break][break]

The timidness, however, concerned her greatly. [break][break]

More Starly flock overhead, but once again they pay the pair no mind. Something had startled them, it seems, leading Emma subconsciously to investigate. She veers from her straight path, heading in the direction the Starly had risen from. [break][break]

She had heard of another species of bird in the area, one that evolved into the metallic beauty that Cillian Quinn possessed. [break][break]

Another Gible appears, pushing out of the earth and gasping at the air like a fish out of water. Hades pounces upon the creature like a fox hunting for mice. The Gible is quick to disappear before his teeth find purchase, and Hades comes up with only dirt between his teeth.[break][break]

He spits it out and growls, shaking his head and ridding himself of the dirt. The Gible has disappeared and Emma continues in the direction of the clearing the Starly had startled from.[break][break]

Emma ducks suddenly as a green blob is sent flying toward her head. With a gasp she brushes the top of her hair with her hand, glancing over her shoulder to see that a Solosis had been launched. It recovers and hovers away as if dizzy, and Emma pauses to look at Hades with bewilderment before continuing.[break][break]

The safari was apparently a dangerous place.[break][break]

She finds what she's looking for, sort of. The only issue is how tiny the bird is and how terrible Hades aim appears to be. His STONE EDGE doesn't meet its mark, even with his ability. The Rookidee is sly, performing a SCARY FACE and then disappearing behind it. By the time Hades recovers, the tiny bird is gone.[break][break]

But she would soon realise that a Rookidee is not what she wanted, so this was not a loss.[break][break]

Emma gasps, turning sharply as the same flock of Starly had landed, only to startle once again. Lycanroc moves faster than she does, pushing past her side to investigate. It's as if he knows what it is she's looking for. [break][break]

Unfortunately, all he finds remaining is a trapped Starly. He devours it before Emma arrives, all trace of the bird gone save for some feathers. [break][break]

But to what? Were two Rockruff not enough for her?[break][break]

They happen upon what looks like a sea of sand, and under it writhes several Gible. They push and pull above and under the surface, appearing and disappearing as they sink into the ever-shifting sand. The woman and her Lycanroc skirt around it to avoid the mess of teeth.[break][break]

Instead, they continue further inland, veering off from the sand and into the lush grass. Emma continues to follow the trail of feathers left behind by what she was hunting.[break][break]
