she felt as though her team was coming along quite nicely. the gods had also blessed her with docile specimens, allowing for her to command them with relative ease. 

"training still isn't as easy as they said it'd be." 

cait was still struggling somewhat with grasping the remarkably simple concept of battle. but she felt as though she was managing well enough, and would make a half-decent trainer within the span of a month or two. the girl prided herself on being a quick study, and very rarely gave up once she had a goal in mind. 

"hm." 

she sat upon the forest floor and fell silent, taking advantage of such a moment to simply think and mull over her own future.

the noise generated by the spider was hardly noticed by the woman, and as is it dashed by she would flinch, taken off guard by the sight of it. cait relaxed as it continued on its way, the creature appearing to have little to no interest in her. 

'that's a dewspider,' she thought. 'they're adorable in a strange sort of way.' 

she smiled fondly at the arachnid, the grin only lessening once it slipped out of view. 

"mmm," she hummed. "maybe i should walk for a bit? i'm starting to get a little stiff." 

cait stretched once she stood, her joints popping softly as she completed the pleasurable action.

there's a decent amount of pokemon that she would cross path's with on such a fine day, though a majority maintained their distance, far too busied with the simple act of survival. she was familiar with such a process, having observed it numerous times over within her few years of living. but her life had been far easier in comparison prior to her joining the league. 

'and now i have to survive rocket.' 

but that was her choice, and one she accepted with a sort of cautious optimism. the idea of fighting them off both excited and terrified her in equal measure, but it was far too late to back off now. 

'my pokemon and i will make it out of this. alive, hopefully.' 

she sucked in a breath, her gaze shifting to a charjabug whom dutifully traveled along the forest floor.

the next creature to pass her by paused as it did so, intrigued by the sight of the green-haired woman. it approached with some measure of caution, releasing a high-pitched noise to properly announce its presence ti the human. 

"hm?" 

cait would turn her head before completely facing the tiny creature, a smile playing upon her painted lips as it peered up at her with a wide-eyed look. 

"a spewpa! you're adorable, little one." 

she crouched before it and crooned, her voice remaining soft as she made herself appear smaller for the bug-type. the woman extended a hand slowly, and the spewda would examine it before looking to her. 

"a brave one, aren't you? you've probably never really been this close to a human before." 

her finger tips brushed against its rounded skull, the pokemon leaning slightly into her touch as it realized how pleasant it felt. their interaction was a quiet one that lasted for a short while, and as cait stood to take her leave of the friendly insect, it moved to follow her. she noticed this only moments later, having peered over her shoulder and been greeted with the sight of the tiny insect that was roughly several meters away now. 

"want to come along? i have room for you, i think." 

once again she crouched and extended a hand.
