The Outskirts of Slateport were a lot bigger than the outskirts of Pyrite Town's Outskirts, in Ryland's opinion. Much bigger, in fact. "Well damn, this place would Pyrite Town to shame," Ryland said with a smug grin as he looked around. He had heard there were some Pokemon that lurked about the outskirts that didn't belong to any trainers. He figured he'd try his hand at getting some. That is, if they were even worth his time capturing them. Hopefully, he wouldn't run into anyone else doing the same thing. He didn't like being around others all too much. He never did. Growing up in a place where crime was always high and unsavory folks lurking about every corner made Ryland the person who he was to this day. Sure, he wasn't really all that pleasant to be around, but could anyone blame him really? No, and if they did, then that was their problem. Not his.

He opened a pokeball that was attached to his belt, an incineroar appearing from it. "Lets make this quick, Jalapeno." was all Ryland said.

For somebody looking to capture Pokemon, there was a brief moment of hope as an Aerodyactl slammed down into the far end of the streets, a scarred up and impressive looking figure...and then a man slid off and talked and talked and talked. "Keep your tail to yourself, buddy, we don't need to drove off all this riff-raff, get me?" [break][break]

Rex was here for his usual purposes, to get his pay. Whatever Pokemon lurked out here tended to be either vicious, great for him, or desirable for trainers, also great for him. It's not like he'd be catching too many things needing to be fed and besides, he would definitely catch enough Pokemon to pay for his apartment. Easy! [break][break]

He felt rather than heard the growl of his Pokemon, and whirled to scowl at another person who appeared to be here for the same reason, "Hey, guy. Mind leaving a bit? I don't got time for you messing me up."

Just before they were going to go look, someone on their Aerodactyl had landed harshly in the vicinity. Ryland's eyebrow raised at his words. "Why don't you go searching elsewhere!? I was here first," the young man had said, not caring whether it sounded like a demand rather than a suggestion. Ryland did not like him right off the bat. Ryland's face had turned at the sound of a roar, seeing a Pangoro. It was probably resting in an alleyway nearby, but was disturbed by the Aerodactyl's landing. Ignoring the guy and his stupid looking bird, Ryland had began to focus on catching the big panda in front of him.

"Jalapeno, you know what to do," Ryland said, and with that, his Incineroar had began to go on the offensive, attacking the Pamgoro with a Cross Chop. Angered by the attacking, the wild Pangoro had jumped up in the air, attempting land on Jalapeno with a Body slam, however the Incineroar Dodged, and countered with a Throat Chop, smacking the Panda back down to the ground hard. Before anything else could happen, Ryland had tossed a Pokeball at the Pangoro, finally attempting to capture it.

"Wow. Look at this, buddy. Says he was here first, like we weren't flying." The way he talked, it was like the other person in front of him didn't exist or, at least, wasn't as important as the Pokemon by his side. "You see anything to catch? Kid here might get mad if we don't do this fast." Mockery flooded over his voice, even as One took his words seriously, ignoring the other capture as it searched for another Pokemon. [break][break]

It found them more than they found it. With a shriek of intimidation, a moth Pokemon surged from the shadows, clearly threatened by the amount of newcomers in its home. Missing by a hair as One ducked under the Leech Life, Rex screamed after it, "One, get it!" The prehistoric beast needed no encouragement recently, and launched after it, Ancientpower swirling from the ground to clip the moth's wing. Electricity crackled from its jaws, and closing over the Venomoth, it was over. [break][break]

As it slammed into the ground, still trying to get up, Rex smirked, "Yup. You're the one." and tossed the Pokeball. In the corner of his eyes, he could see the other capture happening, and a twinge of irritation grumbled in his chest...that was gonna need to stop, that Pangoro could have sold well...
