Littering was a serious problem around these parts huh? June was sort of surprised. She’d expect that sort of behavior from people in Galar and Unova but here?

Guess you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover then eh? ”You put it a lot nicer than I would have.” June pointed out, shaking her head at the thought of the littering.

”Honestly they’re just going to keep doing it no matter how many times you tell them. Unless you really crack down on them they’re not going to change.” At least that’s what June thought anyway.

Even if it screws everything up for everyone else people will do whatever because they don’t care. At least it seemed that some Pokémon were peaceful as the next few they’d come across left them be.

June didn’t expect to see such variety of Pokémon in Hoenn but she did know that over time they had been introducing more and more species. ”Rangers need to do a better job before all these mon’s start trying to really off someone.”

”Given the amount of people that don’t have that sense I’d question if it really is all that common.”

June shook her head, though she did take notice that the woman next to her was, in fact, a ranger herself. The rest of their walk could have been peaceful but they’d eventually come across two wild Pokémon duking it out.

However the two women would have come across the end of the battle as one Pokémon went down leaving the other, a Sirfetch’d, the winner. The Pokémon then spotted the two passerbys and jumped in their path. It looked worn out but still, it pointed its leak sword at the two, challenge them to battle.

That was probably the intent of the Pokémon but it then fell over on its back, knocked out. June would look over to Charli and shrug, what were they supposed to do with it now? She’d then pull out an empty capsule and toss it at the Sirfetch’d, might as well catch it.

”I wish all my captures were like this.”

They were close to the end of their path. The home stretch awaited them. She nodded; they'd ought to keep going.

”That’s right they don’t evolve everywhere.” June had no idea what caused the difference between the two different Farfetch’d and what caused one to evolve while the other didn’t.

”Real “prim” and “proper” types these Sirfetch’d are supposed to be but if you ask me they’re more of a pain in the arse than anything else.” She’d shrug, picking up the capsule that now held the Sirfetch’d. Another pair of Pokémon were nearby but June had no real interest in them.

”Either one of those catch your fancy?”

"Oh, I getcha. I know a few Pokemon who are like that," Charli laughed, her blue orbs side-eyeing her Grovyle. Firn snorted and did its best to ignore the blonde lady. The grass lizard was such a priss. [break][break]

The Ranger appeared relatively interested in the bi-pedal bug that made its appearance known to the group. She nodded, throwing Rory back into the fray. The oceanic Pokemon launched at Heracross with a Posion Jab. It appeared pretty shaken, so Charli took the opportunity to catch it. She threw a Pokeball forward. It bounced off of the bug and sealed it inside.

”Hey nice catch.” June congratulated the ranger on her newly caught Heracross. Their journey through the route wouldn’t be done as more Pokémon appeared and one in particular looked as if it was dying for a fight.

”I’ll be your opponent then.” June smirked, walking forward to face the Hitmonlee that looked so eager to battle. The cadet then released her Nidoking, the Pokémon letting out a prideful roar upon release. The Hitmonlee waited for nothing as it lunged into the air and came down with a dive kick. The Nidoking took the blow, bracing for the impact by putting its arms up.

The drill Pokémon, having caught the Hitmonlee off guard by being able to take one of its kicks, grabbed the fighting type by its ankle and slammed it into the ground. The Nidoking then slammed on of his fists into the gut of the Hitmonlee, this action resulting in an eruption of gold energy and rocks.

”Sheesh you didn’t have to go so hard on the poor thing.” June sighed, taking out an empty capsule and tossing it at the now dazed Hitmonlee.

After picking up her catch, Charli threw a few strands of her blonde hair behind her shoulder while she watched June challenge the Fighting-type before them. She couldn't help but grin at the sight of the massive Nidoking. It was quite a spectacle too with the purple beast ramming its fist down at its wild opponent and the shower of gold that followed afterward. Even Charli's own Pokemon appeared to be fascinated by the Nidoking's strength. Her Mareanie placed two of its stop tenacles together in a clapping motion, applauding the other Pokemon. [break][break]

It was a win-win for everyone, as it seemed. Just as June finished up and went to catch the wild Pokemon, the trail ahead of them had ended. The nearby city was just a few feet away. "Woohoo, we made it!" Cheered Charli, thrusting a thumbs-up at her new fiery-haired friend. [break][break]

"You and your Pokemon are crazy tough. You've got a great temperament too; I'm glad I metcha," Charli complimented, smiling the entire time. She returned her Mareanie and Firn moved over to Charli's side, nodding approvingly at June. "I've got to get back to town but I'd love to meet you again and battle you myself someday, June!" [break][break]

Charli clenched a fist and motioned it forward, offering June a fistbump.

”Uh?”

June looked away from the battle that just occurred and to Charli. Oh they had reached the end of the route, what great timing. Fighting through a route was fun and all but actually being able to make it through it was nice, she didn’t want to spend her entire day here. She at least got a lot out of it so she couldn’t complain all that much.

”I guess we did.” She was surprised that she hadn’t even noticed. When complimented June smiled and shrugged, trying to give off an impression of being too cool. ”Yeah I guess we’re pretty great.” June replied.

”It was nice meeting you too and I’m sure we’ll run into each other someday. Though I’m going to hold you to that offer to battle, I want to see what you’re made of!” June returned the favor and met her fist with Charli’s.
