"ah, i meant it like you don't seem the type to get their hands dirty!" he pinches his chin with his thumb and an index finger. "but i guess there's money. i do love money. you're here for the money, right? cause i've met people who joined rocket just to cause shit, and man are they difficult to deal with!"

eventually, he sees a particularly common green-and-white sighting.

"that mon!"

priam picks up his shroomish by the top of its head and proceeds to chuck it at the kirlia. the kirlia manages to notice it at the last moment, twirling just in time to see it land on its face. effect spore activates on contact, putting the dual-type to sleep had it not been knocked out by the sheer force from the collision alone.

with an empty pokeball, he double taps the unconscious kirlia by lobbing the device at its head with his hardest throw for a capture.

"any idea why they're so popular?" priam asks as he waits for the pokeball to confirm the capture. "every big mission i go to, there always seem to be at least one person to have one of it or its evolutions."

"that's actually good point! you know, i've always went on these difficult missions and never thought of getting myself a pokemon that knows teleport." a chuckle leaves him as he picks up the pokeball containing the newly caught kirlia. "if you're really claimin' that, you better agree that escaping a difficult situation without teleport and just cutting it short is the most hair-raising experience!"

he stares at the pokeball a bit longer, a hint of reminiscing present for a moment. it abruptly stops before he continues to shove the pokeball to his pocket.

"but yeah, just to be safe."

and only then does the last statement hit him. his lips curve at one end for a smirk. the sudden puff of chest with the crossing of his arms made a clear display of how well he took it, not mentioning that he may or may not have gotten off the course.

"what makes you think of that? you think i'll make a good psychic-type trainer? i do have a very nice espeon, so it's not really unthinkable."

A couple of nods are given in response to Priam's words. He was right. The rush that came from actually dealing with a problem rather than escaping from it was unlike anything else. Addictive, exciting... It was better than drugs, if you ask her.

"I agree. I mean... Pokemon battling is very nice, I like it. But after hearing a bullet pass right next to me? I am pretty sure I prefer that." As long as she manages to stay safe, at least. Constantly testing her luck against firearms didn't seem like the smartest idea, despite how often Katherine preferred to act first and think later.

"It's more so the fact that I raised a Ralts myself. They can give you a bit of attitude, sure, but they wouldn't let anything hurt you."

Whether if such behavior was earned by all the trainers who kept a Gardevior or Gallade by their side remained a mystery. From the short time Katherine has spent with Piram, she was convinced that he wasn't the type to treat his pokemon wrong.

But perhaps she was assuming too much.

"You know, I almost forgot about this ghost that's supposed to be staying here. Maybe it is just a rumor after all."

"ya gettin' scared?" priam flexes an arm and pats his bicep. "the offer's always open if you are."

he snickers and quickly relaxes his arm afterwards, meaning not to get his advances to be considered literally instead of being just as they were-- teasing. regardless, he stops and tries to peer over the darkness. besides the tapping of a nearby totodile's feet and a weird pokemon he doesn't recognize, there wasn't anything else that felt supernatural.

"wanna go home?" he asks, before following it up with the more important question. "you remember where we came from, right?"

him getting lost during his ventures at the shoal cave may be attributed to something else alongside the layout changes during tides.

"Scared? Pfft."

Unfortunately, there wasn't anything even remotely scary inside the cave. Katherine had expected to see more, but it turns out that the rumor that brought here was a false one. Well or that the presence of Priam and her caused the ghost to hide.
She shook her head in response finally, and then her eyes began to look around her surroundings. Now that Priam mentioned it... Did she even remember where they came from?

"I-..."

"I wasn't paying enough attention to keep track of where we've gone." As always, she was more concerned with moving on as fast as she possibly could. "But I suppose this is a good time to show you why I like those psychic-types so much."

A Pokeball is retrieved from her bag, and with a gentle tap on the button at its center, it releases a red beam that soon allows Katherine's Gallade to materialize and appear in front of the duo. Arthur's gaze is directed to his trainer first, and then it lingers on Priam for a couple more moments before returning to Kat.

"We're... Sort of lost, Arthur."

Despite not voicing any request, the Psychic-type acts as if he had heard one. A nod takes place just as the Gallade's eyes close - and a bright, pink light flashes in the cave, momentarily shining light upon all that remained shrouded by the dark.

And in the next moment, the group appears outside, near the entrance of the cave.

"I told you they're useful." A smile graced the Rocketess's lips before Gallade prepared for another TELEPORT. "It was nice seeing you, Priam. But..."

"No caves next time, alright?"

and just like that, priam is all alone. he races for her, but she blinks out of existence fast enough for him not to catch her. priam grumbles in defeat.

he releases the kirlia from the pokeball he just stuffed on his pocket, and it materializes in a slumbering slouch. it is useless and unable to teleport away, if it even knows that move. the kirlia is recalled as quick as it was released.

"looks like we're hiking our way out shroomy," he tells the grass-type beside him. in a way, it was reminiscent of his shoal cave adventures.
