[attr="class","faye b"]it's been a while, she muses. perhaps too long since she's felt the familiar chill of low temperatures creeping over smooth skin. the goosebumps are almost a welcome reaction. they let her know she's alive, heart still beating in a cage of bone. some could say it's too cold, too freezing to go any further. she, however, doesn't mind the cold. it's comforting in a way the sun almost isn't. besides, the ice coating the floor could be considered beautiful if she dwells on it.

except, she doesn't.

she's here with a purpose driving her. more ice types, more cold creatures. her team hasn't had a new addition in some time, perhaps since the last time she had drifted across these floors. even now, she glides with grace, shoes abandoned on a nearby rock. sure, it's cold and her feet are slowly becoming numb the more she moves but that's never bothered her. what's more numbness to add to what she already has?

"yuki," she chimes, swirling on her heels with a flourish of purple ended strands and the flash of patterned fabric. her haori continues to move and settle like a butterfly's wings coming to a halt. the snorunt in question perks up at the sound of her voice, slowly drifting closer with a chirp. the fake smile widens, going through stages of metamorphosis until it becomes mostly genuine. small traces of the mask still linger, sure, but they always will. "skate with me." it's a simple request, one that is easily fulfilled.

the ice type joins her side and together, they shuffle further across the ice. it's quiet, perhaps almost too quiet. the calmness is soothing, she decides with another twirl. someone will come along to ruin it, to add noise to cancel out the serenity but for now, it's just her and her snorunt and the glittering ice of shoal cave. and sometimes, that's enough.
