the roserade and mimikyu took a glance at the gym leader before paying their own respects with a bow and quickly puffed out their chests to show that they were ready for any challenge that would face them. "if ya don't mind me suggesting, i know gyms kinda have their own little uh...gimmick, but i was hoping we could do things old fashioned? i kinda learn better in the heat of the moment if i'm being honest." maybe today was the day he put on a more earnest and serious face for this gym challenge, after all he was having some good luck with them for the most part so he couldn't get too comfortable. "any kind of challenge you have in mind miss?"

"i mean...i'll still wear the machoke costume. i love machoke." if he had known that before hand he would have brought his own too! for real! still now was not the time to lament over lost cosplay opportunities now was the time to get serious and have a great battle. once the gym leader sent out their pokemon kaz took a look between the two he brought along and wondered what would be a good match for it. they both seemed like they would be an even match so...it was only right for the one with less battle experience to show his stuff.

"ok mr fake, get out there and show your stuff!" giving a thumbs up to the mimikyu the little fairy ghost doll pokemon jumped in anticipation and made its way to the arena where it put up long shadow like limbs in some kind of cartoonish boxing stance to show that it was ready to fight. "show them how sharp your claws are!" following his trainer's command the mimikyu's hands unfurled into sharp claws as it charged at the decidueye and reached out to try and rake its claws against it.

the archer owl took the first shot and fired off an arrow towards the mimikyu. ghost type moves were effective on other ghost types, that much kazimir knew so he would have to act quick to save his pokemon from harm. luckily for him he knew that in mr fake's case acting amounted to just taking a hit in stride. "take the hit mr fake!" so the arrow flew straight through the upper part of the doll and pierced the mimikyu's shadow who felt like they couldn't stop from moving now that it had found its mark. however it truly didn't as was evident by the head of the fairy ghost's disguise suddenly flopping to the side while the pokemon bounced energetically in anger at the mess that was made.

"give 'im a taste of his own medicine with mimic!" raising both of its arms up the mimikyu plucked at one of them like a bowstring and pulled back before letting loose its own small version of spirit shackle at the owl archer in order to pin it down so that it would be a true last man standing battle.

the arrow flew true and struck a heavy blow against the grass owl but before anyone could celebrate it looked like that hard work would be all for naught as it unleashed a powerful counter move. giga drain, and it looked like it hurt a lot more than it should when poor mr fake let out a scream as he felt his energy suddenly take a nose dive and the owl look reinvigorated. "alright...fair enough. guess we should be a little cautious too huh, mr fake! show them why your a faker!"

mr fake did his best to get back onto his feet before raising up his claws and moving them around in front of his face as his body began to split into two, and then split into two again, and again, until he formed a ring around the decidueye and laughed at it as it trapped it within a ring of mimikyus ready to double team it. "what's yer intuition say 'bout which ones real? we'll give ya a hand with shadow claw!" the clones took their hands and lashed out against the grass type with a myriad of wild slashes to overwhelm it with their shadow claws, only one of which would actually do any damage, if only they could tell which one it was.

she was probably right but the lesson was lost on the hero. quick thinking was important on line of work but perhaps that was the problem, he thought too quickly and didn't really recognize what may or may not work beforehand. experience was probably his weakness in learning how to learn to be more intuitive. if so then he was going to take as much as he could from this fight if it ended in either a win or a loss. deep down however he wanted a win.

"now while its busy! sharpen your claws!" when the archer owl took off to the sky after taking a hit to rest itself the pokkenger took this chance to make mr fake sharpen his claws against one another, something that all the doubles did to copy the original. as they did the decidueye was proven to be more accurate than it let on as it unleashed a shadow ball that exploded against the real mr fake who was knocked out of the fading ring of copies of himself. as he rose to his feet it was obvious that he was struggling to continue the fight. "alright mr fake show then how tough you can be and claw the fight out of their hearts out!" the little mimikyu shrieked in agreement and stretched out his claws once again to strike with a sharp shadow claw attack once again.

the attack found its mark and both trainer and pokemon couldn't be happier by the expression on their faces. they lasted until the owl suddenly swooped down and unleashed a point blank shadow ball right at mr fake who only let out a second of a screech of terror before he was blown away unconscious from the arena and close to kazimir's feet. "whoa...don't worry mr fake ya did good out there." he whispered to his pokemon as he reached down and petted it before returning it to its pokeball and reaching for the other one he brought along.

he paused for a moment before glancing over at the gym leader and her pokemon, both were tough that was for sure and now doubts were beginning to cloud kazimir's mind. if he remembered right her decidueye wouldn't be able to go anywhere since mr fake sent its spirit shackle move right back at it. so it could tire easily if his next pokemon could keep the pressure up he just had to think of how. thinking back to what his roserade knew as he released it onto the battlefield a light bulb suddenly shone a light in the fog of his mind. he felt like his brain was expanding from the knowledge of what his roserade did know that might be able to beat their current opponent and kaz was going to capitalize this chance.

"captain rose! give 'em a lullaby!" raising one of its arms to the sky a single leaf popped out of its bulb hand as it brought it up to its lips and began to play a song. a soothing song that would probably make the most tired of pokemon feel like they deserve a good rest. after all the grass whistle was one of the most underappreciated of instruments.
