unfortunately for him, this business of his crossed into rocket territory and, as marcel has said when he first proposed this mission, a threat to their monopoly was a threat of rocket itself.

Emma leans against the back of the bench Marcel sits on. It creaks against her weight before holding, and she remains virtually motionless aside from the slight side-to-side glance. The woman's arms are crossed over her chest.[break][break]

As soon as Marcel speaks, she tucks her chin to glance at him briefly. She's facing the opposite direction he is but neither of them look particularly out of place. Her own Pokemon mingle with Marcel's, the Umbreon having taken quite a fancy to the Espeon.[break][break]

"I told you we had more time to kill. Never took you for the go-getter."

Umbreon continues his awkward flirtation, remaining ever close to him and his beautiful purple fur.[break][break]

However, something sparkly and smelling faintly of chocolate distracts him further, and the Umbreon soon pounces on the poor, unsuspecting Swirlix. It reminds him immediately of Cillian Quinn's Alcremie back home and he takes to the cotton candy-like Pokemon immediately.[break][break]

Meanwhile, Emma's attention shifts to Marcel and his grumbling.[break][break]

"You haven't had anything to eat yet today, have you? You sound hangry."[break][break]

Her lips curl in an amused smirk as Umbreon trots up to her feet to drop the Swirlix. [break][break]

The woman glances down at the roughed up Pokemon before exhaling. There's a hint of colour in her cheeks as she clues into Umbreon's amazement with the Pokemon. To de-escalate an embarrassing situation, Emma captures the Pokemon instead of addressing it.[break][break]

Alcremie would probably love a friend anyway, not that Emma would ever admit she'd grown soft.[break][break]

Emma wrinkles her nose at his grunt, eyes flitting to the phone he lays face-down in his lap. She opens her mouth to be snarky, but Marcel beats her to the punch. Despite having his focus embedded in anything but her, he had managed to see her capture the Swirlix.[break][break]

Her cheeks tinge once again with pink as she glances away.[break][break]

"No. Of course not," she grumbles, twitching her nose and shifting her weight. "Y'know, you might find what you're looking for if you weren't so involved with your phone."[break][break]

In the background, Marcel's Sylveon takes down a Kecleon and the Pokemon is swiftly caught.

Emma exhales through her nose, a sharp and forced expression of amusement. The woman uncrosses her arms and stands up straighter, glancing away from the rapid scrolling of his phone screen.[break][break]

"I am the wicked, and I get plenty of rest."[break][break]

She watches as he maintains his focus on his device, pausing only when his Pokemon pushes him to pay attention to her. He's absent, not really here. She can see that.[break][break]

It honestly surprises and impresses her that he's able to maintain a conversation with her. The way his eyes scan text, it almost makes her dizzy.[break][break]

"If it's something you need from me, I'm always available."

"i'm going to hold you to that." he replies to emma a few beats late, having gotten caught up in his emails (and trying to force himself not to read into her words too much), "i'll send the details over once i've got it figured out."
[break][break]
a linoone crosses his vision. marcel gestures to it, sending his sylveon running again. the wild pokemon's sheer speed makes for a tricky hitbox, but a well-timed HYPER VOICE means aim is not a problem. taking advantage of its hitstun, amour plants a DRAINING KISS on its forehead. marcel throws the pokeball shortly after.

His quiet laugh manages to relax her to some degree. She still finds it odd, the effect Marcel has on her. Where it used to make her skittish, it now feels normal. Perhaps that's the effect of friendship.[break][break]

At the same time, however, his vow to hold her to her promise sits funny in her chest. Like some invisible lump that she discreetly forces away, Emma glances away from Marcel and their hesitant tension.[break][break]

She finds a Tauros causing a fuss in the middle of the park they're lingering in. Her Pokemon make short work of the situation and she's relieved - less attention drawn to them the better.[break][break]

As soon as the Tauros goes down with a great sigh and icicles clinging to his horns, Emma throws a Pokeball to capture the beast.[break][break]

In the end, Emma doesn't respond. She often seemed to communicate without communicating at all.[break][break]
