a new year brings new expectations. civil unrest starts to manifest in the form of online criticisms that spike after the three day war. now that the region no longer has to face the threat of megalopolans, the people of hoenn turn to address smaller and more personal issues. will the league rise up to the situation? what about questionable events that have transpired, overshadowed and overlooked in the face of more imminent issues?
after the ultra beast war, hoenn begins to heal. the megalopolan invasion may have failed; however, it is clear there is much more at stake. a prophecy revolving around a cyclical meteoroid, the appearance of necrozma and a dangerous and viral alien threaten the safety of the region once more.
with rocket's new boss, the resurgence and reappearance of the crime syndicate's presence is imminent. the league has done its best to repair its reputation, and with the victory of a war under their belt, perhaps it is enough. but the seeds of distrust have already been sown in the ravaged land of this region, causing many to wonder what will grow?
[attr="class","ithread"]"POISON GAS!" [break][break] as the city dies, the fight blazes on. iris' aggron and ferrothorn charge into the smog, unleashing a blind flurry on attacks on anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path. her breloom falls close behind, the effects of POISON HEAL revitalising it as it breathes in the poison. with a roar, it lets out a torrent of BULLET SEEDS [break][break] on her other side, he omastar uses MUD THROW and SCALD in quick succession to turn the land behind her into a small marshland. it wouldn't keep opponents away entirely, but it'd buy her time should she need it. moving around the cloud of gas, iris grips tightly to her gardevoir's wrist. [break][break]prepared to teleport the moment she was at risk, she's confident enough to let the distance between herself and the rest of her pokemon stretch on slightly. her eyes rove the site of verdanturf, taking in the chaos with unwavering resolve. [break][break]
A Bullet Punch from a heavy, red pincer slams into the head of a Mightyena violently, finishing off the Rocket's Pokemon. As this is going on, the Mightyena's handler's attempts at subduing the Scizor's master ends in disaster as his head is violently slammed into the wall of one of the houses, knocking the man unconscious. The large, one-eyed man grins in bloodlust, looking around for his next victim. As a Hydreigon pounded a small group of Rockets with alternating Pulse fire, a Galvantula would subdue the trainers with an Electroweb, before stringing them up. From there, their Pokemon would be slim pickings for their teammates.
Thomas' attention would be directed towards an Aggron and Ferrothorn charging through a cloud of smog. "Thread, to me!", the Kalosian called out, signalling the Galvantula to make his way back to his master. Cobalt, Freke, and Colt would also join their master, with Kalameet the Hydreigon allowing him to climb onto his back, with Thread leaping up to latch onto the dragon's underside.
Cobalt and Colt would each target the two steel behemoths charging from the smog, with the Lucario selecting the Aggron, while the bloodthirsty Clawitzer set his sights on the Ferrothorn. The two blue Pokemon would fire off Aura Spheres at their targets. Meanwhile, Kalameet would conjure a Nasty Plot in his dark mind. Ripper would hype himself up with a Swords Dance, working himself up into a frenzy. Freke would put himself into a Calm state of Mind, focusing himself for the coming battle.

[attr="class","ithread"]she watches the aura sphere blast through the air. she knows that, if their opponent is smart, there are two possible targets; a few more seconds, and she has it narrowed down to one. her gardevoir begins to raise a shield, but iris holds up a hand to stop her. she needs to see what sort of strength they're dealing with. [break][break] the attack hits, and her ferrothorn digs its feelers into the ground as to not get knocked over. "now." a LIGHT SCREEN manifests around her team, flickering into sight, before vanishing as if nothing had ever been there. the next aura is slowed down by the barrier. just as well. [break][break] "ADVANCE!" [break][break] an invasion was about covering ground. they would consume this town, and league's powers with it. her breloom traces back the path of one aura sphere to find the opposing clawitzer and, without hesitation, hurls a SEED BOMB towards it. her muk follows close behind, swinging a THUNDER PUNCH. [break][break] the second culprit is left to her two other pokemon. her omastar leads the attack with EARTH POWER, while her aggron chases the attack to follow up with EARTHQUAKE. the last move, iris hoped, would rattle her opponents long enough for her to get a better idea of who she was dealing with. [break][break]

Thomas would see the signs of the Light Screen being formed from the smog. This would put a damper on the two Aura Sphere being lobbed the opponent's way. As the Seed Bomb was being lobbed the Clawitzer's way, Ripper quickly stepped in to take the attack. Thanks to his physiology, he was able to easily withstand the Seed Bomb coming his way. Alas, he was unable to defend Colt from the oncoming Thunder Punch. Making matters worse, an Earthquake shook the area, getting Ripper, Colt, Freke, and Cobalt. Thread, thanks to being mounted to the underside of the Levitating Dragon, escaped the attack unscathed. Seeing the Earth Power begin to form under him, Lucario used Extreme Speed to quickly get out of the area, barely managing to escape the attack.
"Ripper, lead the charge! Brick Break!", Thomas called out.
Ripper, with a grin, dashed towards the Aggron, a pincer raised in the air, before striking at the lumbering beast with a strike that would shatter the Light Screen on impact. Following this, Kalameet would unleash Earth Power underneath the Alolan Muk, attempting to bust through the colorful mess of a creature. Freke would lob a Shadow Ball the Gardevoir's way. Colt, in retaliation, would lob off another Aura Sphere, this time targeting the Omastar. Thread, for his part, would aim towards the Breloom's position, using the earlier Seed Bomb to judge the location, before spraying a stream of Gastro Acid at it.
