as she dines, she points to the mega alakazam that hovers in the air. "MADE IT THIS FAR? NNNN-ICE. YOUR JOB IS TO STEAL, I SAID STEAL, THREE SPOONS, BUT MY ALAKAZAM'S SPECIAL. IT'S NOT GOING TO BE EASY."[break][break]

the alakazam has its eyes closed throughout all of this. however, its psychic power is a powerful force that keeps the spoons stuck hovering in its gravity.[break][break][break]

Oscar heard Thea and furrowed his brow. He looked to his hydreigon and quietly sighed. Yeah training him wasn't easy, he was afraid to be too harsh on him. Lest the dragon decide to rip Oscar apart. As the challenge ended, Oscar returned the dragon to his pokeball, after giving him plenty of pats on his heads of course. He had to remember to give him some treats when they get home.

As they approached the next floor, Oscar spoke aloud. "I can't wait to see what fresh horror awaits us." It was only semi-sarcastic. He tried to hide it, but he was having fun.

Of course, the next challenge was quite the puzzle. They had to steal a spoon from a god-damn mega alakazam. That was like taking a spoon from a super magnet, how were they supposed to do that? Oscar rubbed his chin in thought, and it didn't take long to come up with the solution. "Ah, luck's on our side." Oscar once again approached the PC and withdrew a pokeball. He opened it, and out came a Hawlucha. Not just any Hawlucha though, this one had an unusual color scheme of purple and red, it was quite the intimidating sight.

The Hawlucha stood proudly and faced his opponent with the utmost confidence (despite the type disadvantage). Oscar gave the command, "Use Entrainment." The hawlucha looked back, giving his trainer the best thumbs up he could. Sure he had expected to fight, but any chance to perform made his time worthwhile!

The hawlucha posed, before doing a very bizarre tap dance. It didn't seem to follow any particular rhythm, and every few seconds he would strike another mighty pose. The Alakazam's eyes were indeed closed, but it could not help but sway to the same rhythm. Almost as if it were compelled to. Thanks to hawlucha's dance, the alakazam's ability would now be his own: Mold Breaker. The hawlucha couldn't blame him, everyone wanted to be more like him!

Oscar's teammates were now free to steal the spoons.

[attr="class","lancepost"]thea lectures the man with the hydreigon about how best to treat the pokemon and it's amusing to hear. her inner teacher is showing. the amusement lingers even as they enter the fourth floor.

the next challenge posed is interesting, as is the hawlchua the man summons. it looks familiar–ah, it's the hawlchua lance was aiming for but missed by 11 degrees. "you might have saved us there, bud," he says to oscar and sends a nod of gratitude.

lance swaps his pokemon out and the toucannon that materializes perches herself on his shoulder. he gives her beak a nice scratch before pointing to one of the three spoons.

"think you can steal that?"

the spoon glimmers in the light and nokka shoots straight at it like a THIEF. the move allows her to get up close to smack the alakazam in its face with her wing before snatching one of the spoons with her beak. she soars straight back and perches on lance's shoulder, dropping the spoon right into his hand.

"never had a doubt."

[attr="class","witness"]The lecture doesn't bother Asher. No, there's no 'protecting his body guard' because Thea was right. Being that Oscar was more Asher's help than he was a student or a friend, Asher simply didn't make a comment about how the man dealt with his pokemon.

But then they're met with the next challenge and Asher finds himself proud of his body guard's quick thinking. He moves over, tossing out a pokeball after getting it rotomi machine, releasing his golbat, batty, who flaps about like a crazy lunatic and there's a noise coming from it like a chitter.

"Well done Ozzy."

With a kiss to Ozzy's cheek as a thank you, Asher moves forward. Seemed Thea was rubbing off on him in that regard. Also, kissing Ozzy was like kissing a pokemon, to Asher, so to him it wasn't the least by hypocritical...

"Get yourself one of those shiny spoons, you spaz."

The golbat locked on as soon as it was let out of its ball and he swoops down to use thief in an attempt to steal the spoon. A happy chomp or four is given before Asher returns the golbat, since the job was done.

She isn't expecting a response so when one doesn't come, she doesn't flinch. Her attention is already refocused on the next challenge. She continues to rattle her brain for information, for how to properly defeat this next obstacle.[break][break]

But it appears that Oscar is already on it - already using his own smarts to outsmart even her. While she would have come to a similar conclusion - perhaps using her Pumpkaboo's worry seed, the white-haired young man is quick to the punch.[break][break]

The ENTRAINMENT erases the Mega Alakazam's STICKY HOLD and replaces it with something else - it doesn't really matter.[break][break]

What matters is that they can now effectively steal the spoons without worry. [break][break]

Thea watches as Lance and Asher both release Pokemon capable of stealing the spoon, and she returns Drifblim in exchange for Mimikyu.[break][break]

"Mimic their thief, please."[break][break]

The ragdoll Pokemon is a master at mimicking, and as such, has no qualms using the same move that the Toucannon and Golbat use - perfectly executing the same THIEF and retrieving the spoon for Thea.[break][break]

She squeezes the cold metal in her hand, a small smile of satisfaction on her face as she glances at her group.[break][break]

"Not bad, boys."

[attr="class","witness"]Admittedly, seeing Thea proud of the efforts they had put forth has Asher's chest puffing out a bit. He walks a little higher, but is returning his golbat as quickly as possible. Annoying little thing.

It takes him little effort to make his way up to the next level. The challenge is announced and he's thankful he has access to the rotomi. A pokemon job search quickly has him withdrawing a throh, who uses his mold breaker and storm throw to successfully land their first critical hit.

He smirks over at the rest of them and raises a brow, cocky, cheeky, grinning.

"Who's next?"

Oscar's ego got a bit inflated by how well he preformed, even if it was something anyone would think to do. His satisfaction was immediately depleted as Asher gave him a peck on the cheek. Oscar suddenly turned a deep red, almost even purple. Receiving affection of any kind wasn't his strong suit, and the usually composed thug turned away as his expression became a mix of rage, flattery, and embarrassment.

That expression remained as they entered the next floor, only fading when facing the next challenge. Oscar sent out his recently caught pancham, and it used its Mold breaker and Storm Throw combo to deliver a critical hit. Oscar scratched his head, these challenges were becoming very specific. They were doing well now, but how long until they come upon a challenge they just can't win?

[attr="class","lancepost"]all the trips to route 112 paid off after all. while everyone else goes to work on the kabutops, lance takes a more relaxed approach and peruses the rotomi. he hears the attacks go off in the background but doesn't even bother to look. perhaps he has that much trust in his team that he doesn't feel the need to.

or perhaps it's indifference.

regardless, lance sends out his throh and points to the kabutops. he doesn't see this pokemon getting much use, but it's certainly useful in this specific scenario because of its MOLD BREAKER.

even with the briefest rest, the braviary is able to soar into the sky. the girl's grin glows below the bird's shadow. "EASY ENOUGH, RIGHT?"[break][break][break]
